Lahore sure does have the population density to make the project viable or even profitable. however, ongoing management is the key. in china metro or subway is far more reliable and affordable than other means of transportation. in chinese mega cities, subway and metro are all operationally profitable and thus are expanding very quickly...

$1.86 billion for just 27 km is way too expensive. The new Agra metro, which will cover 30km, costs $1.1 bil. Pakistanis must ask their govt regarding usage of such humungous amount of taxpayer's money. Best of luck!

Not the same cost, but close (2.2 for Hyderabad?). Also is not fair to compare the cost like that, there are many things to consider, terrain, soil, land ownership and so on. In Hong Kong the extension of a 10 mile line is costing 10 billion USD. So we are paying more than 10 times if we use your logic, until you start to consider it goes underground and it needs go under a harbour.

Plus nobody wants to loans to 3rd country because of poor history of paying back when in debt but the Chinese are trying to make them money then pay back or lease to them instead to save costs for other investments for the Silk Road

1.86 billion USD for a metro😱😱. That's a lot. They could have asked India to make a cheaper version for them. India could have made 4 metros for them for the same price. No doubt why they are in debt.

As an African I like china I like them and all the development they brought especially to us I don't care what people think about China and African debt is a win win situation ,the china also made so many Africans rich business wise .while growing up in Africa I can't afford an American made ipod but china made it possible for the poor to also afford what a rich man can afford .i am happy I sent my elder brother to China to better his life and also I am happy they china are giving the African visa in China .the usa abandoned africa china came to our aid buliding roads bridges and so many other things that is why the American are mad .
