Painting, Varnishing and Tiling a Porcelain Splashback | DIY Sprinter Van Conversion UK

Incredibly conveniently, as soon as I had planned to paint the interior of the van, the temperature decided to plummet below freezing which made things slightly more challenging.
I decided to give the walls and benches a couple of layers of white paint, but then chose to varnish the ceiling as well as the bed frame and table front for a nice contrast.
I also removed all of my cupboard doors and painted them white then finished them with some pine handles.
For some further finishes, I fitted some pine corner moulding around each window frame as well as auto-carpeted the base of each cupboard to prevent the contents from sliding around as much.
I then purchased some grey porcelain tiles to use as a small splashback in the kitchen. I made sure to use flexible adhesive to stick the tiles in place and then also flexible grout as well. This should be a lot better for a van that’s always on the move and also for the varying temperatures.
I then applied a thin bead of caulk around the edge of the tiles to form a tight seal.

Hey mate, first of all, happy new year and all the best things that goes with it 😉 Now, I'm kinda both excited for you to be almost done and ready for adventures and sad to be done with the building parts, which were very inspirational... Anyway, very nice caulking, no pun intended 😜 Keep the good work and see you on the next one. Bonne année 👍

@@GreenHornCountryClub Sound! I'm probably 85% visually finished and needs to be done by end april so first outing will probably be without heat, water and food😄

@@GreenHornCountryClub True 😄. Not sure yet but just a one nighter for first outing lol. Looking forward to seeing the next vid man. I've picked up a few good tips from ya, I might even try tiling instead of stick on splashback😀👍

@@RetroMods good shout! Oh man, you should definitely try a bit of a tiling. Was one of the few things I actually felt quite competent at.
