    I have been doing something similar. I took an 11"x15" watercolor paper and divided it into 12 squares. I have been doing little paintings inside each square, so far I have filled in 7 of them. Like you were saying, it is less intimidating to do little paintings instead of bigger ones sometimes. Thank you for sharing.

    I liked the fall one. I think if there was a bit more blue below the trees it would look like a pond. Very nice all of them! It has inspired me to do more mini paintings.

    I ❤️ how you taped this, and, each painting. It made me think. Why not, do a page, and create a border where the lifted tape is, and frame it. It would be a very pretty/interesting framed piece. A Beautiful way to share multiple paintings in one piece. That's a neat idea, imo.

    Thank you for this. I often feel intimidated by a larger surface staring back at me. So this might be the way to go for me. I do a lot of ATCs for friends. This would be a fun exercise. I loved the middle bottom one. Reminded me of the Tuscany area of Italy!!

    i don't know how I missed this one but so glad I saw the short today! 😊 I love this idea!! esp bc I'm still learning watercolor techniques n sometimes it can be overwhelming doing a big painting. plus w my health I usually don't have huge chunks of time to work on it just little snippets so this idea is perfect for both things. thank u so much for all your helpful videos. ☺

    I love this. My aunt, who was my original inspiration to start painting, has a cottage on a lake in Ontario. I have always wanted to do a 4 seasons painting for her of their view of the lake. Making them small like this makes it feel way less intimidating. Thanks Emma!

    💕I started watercolor 15 yrs ago when I retired…I must love instant gratification because I mostly do 3x3;94 4x3=94 2x2” paintings…I keep a supply of tiny wooden easels and sell and give these away…I have found that with patience I can use most watercolor techniques easily…cue tiny brushes…FABULOUS TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE PAINT BIGLY SMALL. LOL❣️

    It’s a great exercise and my favourite is the water one. I wasn’t so sure about it until I closed my eyes and looked at it again after it was dry. I really love how the water turned out and how tiny it is. If you’d done it bigger it wouldn’t have worked as well. Love your videos!

    Just found you. Like all your suggestions for what to paint when you don’t know what to paint. I have a questions for you. What size is this tape? 1/4”? Would appreciate if you can tell me where you purchased it. The squares look very delicate with the narrow tape. Thanks so much.

    I make artist trading cards. I've got a group session in just over a week. I want to do landscapes. The only problem is time. I have two hours. I prefer to draw landscapes then paint them in class.

    There're some tricks to minimize the chance of washi tape ripping the paper. Check out Dragonfly Spirit Studio's video on how to do that.

    Will the bleed proof white ruin your watercolor brush?

    I only use my cheapest brushes with the bleed proof white. That being said, I have not had any problem with washing it out from my brush completely, and using the same brush with other colors.
