Painting the Milky Way in Oil Paint - Easy night sky painting

Hi all! Here is my artist interpretation of a milky way scene done in oil using the wet on wet method made famous by Bob Ross. As I am a certified instructor, the video will only be available here for 2 weeks. Just wanting to share some of the joy of painting with you all during these times.
For now, the production quality of my videos will suck. Down the road, we will be working on making these videos look slick! Thanks for looking!

Just did this one and WOW! I basically just got started painting again after a LONG layoff as I got discouraged when I first started about a year and a half ago and laid it down, but this one turned out fantastic and did wonders for my confidence! Great instruction and THANK YOU BRAM!! I have a new mindset and the better my paintings are turning out, the more I want to paint and learn how to improve! 🙂 Thank you again! 😀

Just followed with this tutorial, turned out great. Looked through your videos and they are awesome, lots of really cool compositions and uses of colour. I’m excited to try a bunch of them out. Thanks for the excellent content and great instructions! I was so into the painting I almost didn’t even notice squeaky chair..

It came out so beautiful. Even the water reflection before the trees looked so lovely! Question: can I use black acrylic, instead of gesso?

Nice. So you painted black gesso on a white canvas. Let it dry, then added a thin layer of liquid clear, then add purple/blue, etc. Correct?

Yes. Black gesso, then medium such as liquid clear or linseed oil, then the colors.

Great painting. Can I use liquid black or should I stick with liquid clear?

@@thor4318 One way is to spray it with oven cleaner (you'll have to do this outside!) wash it off then you can coat it with black gesso for a new painting.
