Paint with Bram

Paint with Bram

Bram did not pick up a paintbrush until he was nearly 40, but he always loved watching artists on TV. Drawing from Bob Ross’ and Bill Alexander’s enthusiasm, once he started painting, he was instantly captivated and put a legal career on hold to paint full-time.

Bram is a Certified Bob Ross Instructor and works directly with Bob’s son, Steve Ross. They travel around the country offering painting classes to anyone who wants to learn. When not traveling, Bram teaches near his home in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. More about Bram at www.paintwithbram.com

My plan is to have at least 1-2 new uploads per week.

    The edge of the Josh bristle brushes fray out and cannot give the same affect- as the Ross one inch

  • @Milania717
    @Milania717Ай бұрын

    Beautiful- but the one inch brush wasn’t doing the job - your clouds are - where masterful- using the Ross brushes-

    The paint doesn’t appear to be Bob Ross paint- colors and consistency-

  • @Milania717
    @Milania717Ай бұрын

    Beautiful- however can tell the brushes from Josh are not the same- the affects are not same- his brushes are cheap bristles and fray on the ends- the Ross are firm and come to - stay flat and or chiseled- can never achieve the same with Josh cheap brushes

  • @Milania717

    Nice- but that’s not a Bob Ross brush- his brushes are the best- no one can duplicate the bristles of his brushes! They’re firm- and last long time- they don’t frey out at the tips- and have a sable like quality too them- All of these KZreadrs like Josh created his own brushes- don’t waste your time and money- the Princeton (gesso 2 inch brush ) is next to the Bob Ross brush- Josh’s brushes are NOT the same quality- not the same kind of bristles and just a cheap rendition of a bristle brush!!!

    That was an Alexander brush which are the best brushes. It's from the 80s. That's what Bob used then made ones just like them. I also sell my own brushes that are natural hair and very good.

    Hi, quick question, did you use liquid clear on its own or did you thin it with anything? I don't want to apply as is and wipe it with a paper towel, that's just wasting a lot of liquid clear and it's too expensive to do that. Many thanks

    This was very helpful after struggling on and off with these trees. I painted 5 evergreen trees on a practice canvas following these techniques and felt like they were some of the best I have done.

    Hello Bram, I just wanted to take a second to mention to you that you may think it's boring for people to watch you prepping the canvas , but for a new painter, it's confidence building for him/her to actually see the exact process you use to get the canvas ready to start painting.. Some will understand with little help, others prefer to have things laid out so they can feel like they are fully prepared to start.. I think it's good to once in a while , to go over things from the very beginning to help out your brand new viewers.. Letting people know that they're learning the wet on wet technique, telling them they can blend paint right on the canvas.. all the info specific to the style your teaching.. I think it's ok to repeat things, just to drum it into the students the techniques they will be using..
