Thank you for this video. It game me the confidence to do it myself. In addition, I used some transparent smoke paint to give a weathered effect to the city domes. I painted it on the inside of the domes to avoid it rubbing off over time when contacting the storage tray lids.

Hey man thanks for watching. It really is a simple process and no need to worry, you cant destroy the tiles. If you don't like the paint job you can always just strip the paint and start again. The one key to remember is when dry brushing, remember to get most the paint of your brush before you start brushing and you want light pressure. You just want to scrap that brush over the surface.

@@mrP694 Heavy Dry Brush means more pressure and light dry brush is bugger all paint and like the lightest touch.

Yeah I completely forgot until after I uploaded it that I didn't add the painting the side part or painting the symbols. The side is just black paint and same with the symbols. And no I didn't base coat them. I just want to smash them out as quick as possible. So just wash strait on the plastic. I would suggest if you are playing with them all the time, after painting give the a clear matte coat. It will help protect the paint from rubbing off.

Nice! Did you seal them or just leave them free balling in the case?

I sealed them using a clear matte spray paint. Rustolium is the one I use. You will want to give them a nice coat as they are game pieces that will always be handled.

What is the brand of your paint please? Im sad you didnt show how to paint the nuclear explosion and how you did the little details 😞

The first layer is called black wash. This can be purchased pre made or I make my own using black ink, matte medium, water and dish washing liquid.

Anytime you paint mass produced plastics like these, I would recommend washing them with soapy water to remove the mould release they use and then yes priming. In saying that, I didn't do either of those with these. I simply started painting as I just wanted to smash them out. Just make sure you don't use primer to give them a good clear coat at the end of the paint will just chip strait of with use.

I still don't have the confidence to paint mine...yet.

I say just go for it. W ould say if your not super confident with painting, you can just slop a black wash over everything and call it a day that will help give everything a little more detail. Then if you want at a later date you can go the method i have done and just dry brush it all. But my method was not that hard i say maybe just give it a go on one piece if it works go for it. if it doesnt work just wash it of with some iso.

70.913, 70.907, 70.918, 70.961, these are some of the colours I used on these. I would say find colours you like and go with them. Thanks for watching.

hej hej.. Perfect video for me... My game comes in 2 weeks.. what did i need for my basic game? how much trees, builds etc. neet i for the game? i will try to print it on my 3d printer.

I have a weeks leave coming up - know what I'll be doing with it.

Good luck with it man. If you go the route i took, i did it in about 2 nights, probably like 8ish hrs i think to get all the tiles done. Just put on a couple of movie on Netflix or what ever and just zone out. Super easy, and dam does it make the game look awesome. Good Luck and enjoy.

Too much white on ocean tiles in my opinion. Makes them look like ice.

Horrible, it's like the tiles were thrown in the mud.
