This sort of flipthrough is very, very much appreciated. Wish every artist would do this. I get lost in the amount of books that’s available and far too often I keep jumping forward on some titles and ending up buying nothing because I can’t see inside to gage whether it’s really for me. Living in Belgium, it’s not an option to flip through all these gorgeous books since most books will be Dutch. I can always order through an ISBN nr. but that’s not for just looking and not buying. Dutch books (so only translated stuff and original Dutch) are sellable but English books, they kind of ask for a commitment. So these kind of videos really help!! Love your painting on canvas and your line and wash books, gorgeous and informative ❤

Oh wow I can put this on my Birthday/Christmas wishlist for my family members to gift me. I have been meaning to order the Birds one since birds are what got me interested in painting with watercolors to begin with! Brilliant Liz, this looks a fun approach to a daunting subject for many of us. I can do portraits in many mediums but watercolour portraits terrify me.🤣. Will look forward to giving this a go.

I have only just discovered your channel. I paint in various media, though have had to move away from oils, for health reasons. I have been mounting my watercolour paintings on a board and sealing with cold wax for quite a while now, so I have checked out your books on Amazon. The painting on canvas one really grabbed my eye, so I have ordered that one for now. I make up my own deep edge canvases which I have used for acrylic fluid art, but I am excited to try watercolours and inks on them. I also have a pile of large, craft, log slices that I have been wondering what to do with and watching your video on making a clear watercolour ground for wood as really inspired me. I have found clear texture paste on Buddly Crafts and Go Kraft in the U.K., the latter being cheaper. Many thanks.

Your art is super gorgoeus, and exactly this is the problem with this kind of books (published by fantastic artists), every example was made so perfect, that they are totally intimidating. This is more of an art book to get inspiration rather than an educational material. As can see this is for the absolute advanced painters, who want to improve their anyway established art.

not at all. the whole idea of the book is to make portraits accessible, which is why I suggest using transfer methods and learning to love painting before getting caught up in the challenge of drawing a likeness. it is designed to be used and splashed with paint, not kept on a coffee table 😊

It will be in about six months. The US publication is always about 6 behind the UK. I have no idea why!

Will you be doing a workshop on painting, watercolor portraits? I plan to buy the book but I very much would like to do an online workshop for painting portraits. I am going through another scholarship cycle and would like to add the workshop to the scholarship. I’m including the Portrait book and the how to paint watercolor on canvas. I may also include either the painting birds or painting animals. I may do both. I guess the bottom line though is I’d really like to participate and workshop to paint watercolor portraits. Even if you don’t have the workshop, designed yet, perhaps you can develop a price for the workshop with a date that it would begin at some point in the future. I know the book isn’t available until January 2 on Amazon. I hope that’s good food for thought. I love watching your videos, and I hope that this time around on the scholarships I can participate and some of the things you have to offer. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope that I’ve given you some thing too consider.

@@LizChadertonArt I have decided for this scholarship series to sign up for your watercolor on canvas and the line and wash. I’m not sure if I’ll get all the money to be able to do the classes. It’s a selection process so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Someone amazed at the amount of materials that are needed for the watercolor on campus, but it makes sense. I really hope that I get the full amount for the scholarship so that I can do all that I want to with your classes. I have not been doing Facebook but I’ve decided to create an artist account to be able to participate in your Facebook group. Thank you for your response, and all the great inspiration you provide.
