Those 2 trees really did something to finish the composition. Its that inspiration that I'm not sure practice will give me. Thanks Steve

Dreamy ! Thank you 😍🍒
Just begging my water colour journey. I am an amateur doodle person. I live on a boat in the Pacific northwest Canada. Looking forward to trying this. I've seen dozens of videos. You are my FAVORITE 👍💖
Just beautiful - colors are so MAGNIFICENT
I just love your videos and your humor!
Love the colors you used too
I find I want to paint in all medians. The learning knowledge from you is concise and enjoyable. I find waters less forgiving so I try to soak up every edition. Thank you and God Bless

Beautiful purply mountain scene!
Loved the fog thanks 😊🎨
What a beautiful work 😮 love from Paris France 🇫🇷
Gorgeous painting
Thank you. Eye opening. Great technique. ❤
Another great example of you demonstrating control of the paper, moisture, timing and brush strokes as you apply well chosen colors. Seeing how you then watch the colors settle into the fibers until the right dampness allow brush strokes that remain, creating the suggestions of foliage parts by steering color & lifting space & mist. Much of the foreground appears to have been slowly brush-drawn with layers of round, liner & rigger strokes. It's always informative & inspirational to watch you work.
I’m relatively new to watercolor and newer still to Mind of Watercolor. I can’t do what you do but you give me lots of ideas to try out, to try again and to try yet again. Thank you. You are a blessing!
Wow! Thank you and Aloha from Hawaii!

When you first start it looks like a mess then it is beautiful when finished. The best tutorial! I get frustrated because I think oh no! He messed up but my landscapes are awful! I'm learning so I just need to try ! I'm in love with this one!
Love that the videos are there for a reference, even years later. Thanks Steve
This is the fourth of your videos that I have watched today- a lazy at home day. They are relaxed, informative and well described. They make me feel like I could be happy painting with any of your techniques. Thank you.
Cracking talent!
I am new to your channel and am really enjoying your humor and east going watercolor. I hope one day to be you. :.)
Thankyou so much showing how to such beautiful fog effect mountain side forest. Loved it.i would really appreciate if you could show how to water colour paint fir or pine trees.
Nice work. tks for the lesson.✌
Nice quick tutorial.
Love it. You either forgot or skipped how you painted the sky. Also curious why you did the sky wash toward the end. Very nice work. I also loved how you detailed the tall fir trees with boughs first and less trunks. Cool

Yeah it worked out. No matter. I've ruined paintings before.
Thanks so much my friend. I’m not a huge landscape person but got a request for a Christmas present and wanted some pointers. I’ve always wanted to recreate misty pines and you did great.
Very nice. Very helpful.
This was a great tutorial. I watched it a few times and enjoyed following along the second time. Love the verse at the end. Thank you!

I like your philosophy about keeping on painting 😀 I do the same and my mantra is ‘don’t quit!' always finish the painting/drawing, even if it feels like it’s failing 👍 Lovely demonstration btw, I love how bold the foreground colours are!

Thank U, Mind. Now I know more ideas for painting mist.
I live on the west coast of British Columbia ,Canada and the mist on the mountains and through treeline ect.. leaves me with alot of inspiration for this technique ! your painting looks like what I see outside my windows in the winter. I sure love the Bristol brush you used to get the mist/fog look. thank you Steve for a gorgeous painting! Heather

I understood so much more watching this morning. I hope I'm improving somehow some way. Thank you.
I just finished a watercolor landscape on Fluid 100 watercolor paper (140# hot press). The painting came out fairly nice but when I went to remove the frisket I had placed on the paper (wanted those areas to remain white to give the appearance of snow) I discovered the frisket came off along with the top layer of paper. In some places even some of the painted areas came off. When I went to remove the architectural tape I had placed along the edges of the paper in order to maintain a quarter inch border the tape also removed the top layer of paper. This has never happened to me before when I used other papers and the same frisket and tape. I’m not a happy camper! I can use this painting as a practice round, but that means more work on a sort time frame. Today I sent an email to Speedball Art to let them know about this. Hopefully, I will get a reply tomorrow. I told them this 9” X 12” block will be reserved for field sketches in watercolor and practice paper in my studio. BTW, I really like your Foggy Misty Mountains work. I will give it a whirl tomorrow on my Fluid 100 paper. -OkieSketcher1949

It's a problem with several brands. I usually pre-test mask and tape if its a new brand I'm trying. If I know the tape may tear, a hair dryer or heat tool will soften it and prevent tearing as you peel the tape.

@@mindofwatercolor That is good to know. I’ve never felt I needed to test a paper/tape/frisket before this. They have always worked. Speedball sent me a chart to show they do test various tapes when used on their products. The chart was not all that helpful. The line for the paper I used. Has a column for 24 hours and 1 week. Under both headings one finds a “2”. I do not know if that means 2 tears per 1,000 sheets tested or 2 successful removals without an issue. I’ve asked for a reply. In the mean time, I will use this paper to test new colors or to sketch on with pencil. It will not be used for pictures I intend to give away or sell. Thank you for the reply and helpful hint. If nothing else happens I will continue watching your programs. I am slowly going through all the ones I have missed over the years. I have several hours of an enjoyable series of lessons before me. Thanks again. - OkieSketcher1949

+ddgottron my pleasure!
Beautiful video! I gave it a try and was able to create some of the misty effect. I need much more practice to get the trees to be more naturally blended in. But as you say "just keep painting"! Your videos are so encouraging. I will keep trying this with a couple of my own photos, but thank you for helping me to get a start with creating mist/fog in my paintings!
Thank you! Just what I needed
Magnifique ! Merci beaucoup
Great and inspiring. Thanks for tutorial!Greetings from Croatia
Beautiful painting. Regarding agitated paper like scratches and spots of paper dissolving, sometimes you can use a very smooth stone and try and fix it by rubbing the stone on the damaged part with a tissue paper in between, but I think the paper needs to be dry first. another but more expensive way to fix it is by paint diluted watercolor ground on top of the scratch :)
So great. I'm new to watercolor and painting in general. I've watched tons of videos so far. You're my favorite watercolor artist and I have already learned tons from you. Thanks! Beautiful painting.
