Im going to paint my faux leather sofa. N i need simpleness. I like the paint ur using. I will want to check how i can pick the color n the paint for my sofas.😊

The effect is great. You could include some close-up views. So we can see the deatails. Perhaps a camera operator to help you?

Karen Anderson Can I use this paint on my fabric ottoman? I don’t really need to paint the overall ottoman but I wanted to brighten up the fabric. Could I use your little paints in silver, light gray and ecru colors and sponge it randomly on the ottoman to give it some sparkle and brightness? Thank you for a grrrreat video. I really enjoyed it and soooo interesting!!

I would use the chalk mineral paint so that you can apply water to the surface of the Ottoman and it will accept the paint better. The chalk mineral water-based Dixie Belle paint blends a lot better as well. There’s a lot of tutorials on painting fabric with the regular Dixie Belle paint!

It’s weeks later and totally soft and not cracking at all.

Just saw this video. I have almost the same type chairs but they are real leather. Can I use this silk paint on real leather?

Yes you can use it on real leather as well!

Would a coat of Slick Stick give even better adhesion for a high traffic piece?

If you have something that has a slick surface, you definitely could apply slick stick before applying the silk. I was able to adequately scuff sand this vinyl, and it’s looking great!

Just sand the area so that it is smooth. There are also leather repair kits if you want to make it perfect.

You have to use a paint stripper to strip the paint off or sand it completely smooth prior to painting. Otherwise you will be able to see the chippy paint underneath. If you don’t want to completely sand the paint off, you could just sand it to be smooth and then do a chippy paint finish over the top. Just make sure to clean your piece really well and at least sand all the loose paint off.

I saw a fellow retailer post information just this past week that they have painted leather with the silk and it’s working out fabulously. They actually painted their whole leather couch and it looks amazing.
