    Omg...those sculptures are amazing! I have such a hard time painting small details...partly my brushes I think, but partly my skills as well. Help! Ha ha. Feel free to do a tutorial on painting small (especially facial features in small figures), and still getting details without it looking like a mess.

    Thank you! It's all about working GENERAL to SPECIFIC. Start with a larger brush but when you find that you are having a hard time rendering the smaller forms you will need to switch to a softer and smaller brush. You're going to love the video thay comes out next Tuesday. It addresses brushes for each stage of a painting.

    Nice, but sad when you painted the underside of the fountain. There was an effect that looked like an abstract really loose light fixture which seemed to play with the eyes against the details. Can’t wait to see finished painting.

    Thank you! I tend to paint back and forth between rendering and abstracting. But I think the abstraction needs to be deliberate and designed to be truly effective

    It should feel loose and playful, but should be painted with intention to strengthen the composition.
