Many people teach but there are few real teachers. It’s a true gift and you certainly have it.
Simply exquisite! I am 66 years young and have finally brushed the dust off of my art supplies after 40 long years. I have been challenging myself to learn the wonderful art of watercolors and admire your work so very much. I have avidly hunted down every tutorial of yours that I can possibly find on UTube. You are such an inspiring and superbly talented artist as well as being the most incredible teacher. If I could wish for anything, I would wish that there were more of your videos that I could follow. Unfortunately, I am not in the financial position that I could attend any of your workshops. I did actually take the time to check them out and will keep them all on my bucket list. 😊👩🦳🖌️

this video was posted 8 years ago, so I was surprised to see a recent comment. I am 71 and retired and finally have time to learn watercolor. I love this style of semi-abstract landscapes. Good luck in your journey! If you haven't already done so, you might check out Liron Yanconsky and Matthew White, 2 youtubers I've learned a lot from.

I agree, it's gorgeous. We are the same age Deborah - except that I only started a couple of years ago. I LOVE winter landscapes, probably because I grew up in Northern Ontario where snow arrived in October and left in May! I have the most luck with winter scenes - love the blues, greys, taupe, burnt sienna. Winter light is beautiful, too, especially late afternoon.
Without question, this is the most complete instruction I have seen on any video. The information that so many fail to include is all here, and the camera work is first rate. Thank you Grahame for this.

Thank you Grahame. I so appreciate your taking the time to show us this demo. So many lessons in this one, so beautiful!
Love your work and watching you get the much needed effects to make it look more realistic. Thank you.
Again I loved this detailed and informative video tutorial. I felt the showing of the mixing of the colours in the palette really gave a good insight into colour mixing, and it was interesting to see what I felt was a similar tonal range developing across the work as a whole, giving a lovely balance to the final work. it was also interesting to read another comment about painting snow in different colours and this gave a vibrancy to the piece. Thank you for sharing.
This is definitely my favorite demo you have done. I am looking forward to trying my spin on it. I probably will need to borrow that fancy brass box though haha!
Captivating Grahame, thank you so much. My husband and I watched in awe as this stunning watercolour came to life.
WOW! Graham, I love yourwatercolor instruction and painting style. The detail you provide about your color mixing, brush work, and capturing the feeling of the scene is the best I have seen after viewing many demonstrations! Thank you!

Super demonstration. Your accompanying commentary is first class. It's so helpful to hear you explain the how and why as you develop the painting. Many thanks. My usual medium is oil but you've given me the urge to get out my watercolours. Happy new year.
As always, I enjoy your work and your clear instruction of what you are doing and why. I look forward to learning from you in your workshops this year.

Thank you, it’s amazing how it comes together. I’m gearing up to ty my own winter landscape and this tutorial was extremely helpful. Your explanation of the sun low in the sky for warmth and the way the shadow needs to be continuous are great tips!

Thank you so much for this demonstration, I've never colored snow before. I knew that snow isn't just white but didn't quite know how to color it. This helped me a lot thanks.
Great demo. Thank you ! Happy New Year to you!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your video and love the final painting. Thank you. Have just ordered your recent book (my first ever book on Watercolour).
marvelous!......you paint with such confidence and spontaneity... lovely!...and the commentary helps so much...thank you..
you need some snow? we are getting approx. 20 cm tomorrow into Saturday. LOL everytime I watch this I learn something more. thank you for this truly instructional video. love your technique you make the paint come alive.
Kevin Barry Jan 19 2018 Excellent demonstration. Each step in the process clearly explained as it is done. Shows the beauty that can be achieved by a small number of colours and their variation by both hue and value throughout the painting. I found the creation of the small pond - laying down the reflections first and when they were dry, glazing over them to suggest the surface of the water. Thank you Grahame!

Beautiful! Amazing depth achieved with only a few colors. Well done instructional video. More please! Subscribing.
Que arte más grande . Gracias
That's so pretty 😍
Gorgeous!
Fabulous video! Great teaching!❤
I guess what I mean is from a front view that is capable of seeing the full canvas as if it were in front of the viewer. we see it from the top looking down on it and its hard to see what you are putting on the canvas and make sense of it. look at. Bob ross and Donna Dewberry. they go from an angle or straight up close view. I love what you are doing its really beautiful art work.
Very beautiful!!
excellent Graham.
