This is hands down the best repaint of this figure I've seen. It's nice to see a less common Chapter like the Carcarodons get some love!

Important dissaemble info: soak them in hot water for a few mins firsth. It makes the plastic expand and everything pops out super easy and nothing breaks. Much easier. Great work too

@@chargerrex2430 Charcardons wouldn't be sent a batch. Way too few people know of them, no one ever knows where they are, and most importantly no one has their gene seed. But they could trade during the Grey Tithe for the technology/ability to create them

@@RemoteEars *We did recive Primaris reinforcement, however we had to intercept other Chapters communications and we had to go ask to the Lord Regent himself. We cannot blame him for forgetting us, we are one of the most secretive Chapter in the Imperium. In the end it all turned out well*

This looks great. Everybody else has been painting these guys as Imperial Fists, so it's nice to see something different. If I manage to track one of these guys down, I'm thinking about doing them in the style of my Blood Angel successors, the Sanguine Scribes. Pretty excited.

Well crafted Primaris Marine brother! I too bought a McFarlane figure, thankfully the artist proof one and the Ultra marine sergeant. Customizing both to be Salamanders. One captain one Primaris marine.

They need to release a terminator action figure, then you can make Tyberos.

I found 2 intercessors and will be repainting one to possibly either a homebrew or black templar colors the other is remaining stock unless I can find others like grey one or necron. I know a sister of battle is being made too hopefully an orc in the future as well 😆

I pre ordered one back in August and I'm still waiting for it. So I decided to buy another from a different store. Guess I'll have to paint two of them now =)

I'm ordering the reiver and gonna buy a few different mixed pieces of armor, from what I've heard the carcharodons kinda get what they can when it comes to weapons and armor. Yours turned out great! Probably gonna go with a similar color scheme for mine.

Really great painting there - looks awesome. I'm heading down the Raven Guard route which is going to prove challenging if there is any wear on the paint itself.

I normally just try to make black look dirty, it's tough to show wear.

I would love to see a deathwatch paint job. I've been eyeing a custom resin deathwatch shoulderpad on ebay.

The unpainted version are the minis you could paint or customize

I cannot get my primer to not feel tacky at the end, I have set it overnight and still feels tacky, any thoughts?

Very nice job! I have my Necron Warrior that I hope to repaint from the standard paint job (because Bluecrons are Bestcrons of course), and it's clear that while it's not difficult strictly speaking, it has differences compared to the minis. One thing you never mentioned is varnishes, any comments on this? Seems to me that an articulated, posable figure would pretty much demand this to keep the paint job intact

I did not varnish the figure. It is going to sit on a shelf as a display so I am not really worried about the paint coming off. The other consideration is the varnish is adding another layer, making any joints a bit "tighter" and more likely to rub & wear.

ive always wonder if theyre still posable , like after the panthing can you still use the articulation?

Never painted a figure before. I'm worried I might ruin the figure. Got a cheap army painter set, hope that's enough to prime and paint this big guy. You did an amazing job, I hope mine turns out half that good.

He is supposed sergeant. In my Carcharodons army I give the sergeants all the red stripe as a nod to the old space shark scheme. The Carcharodons don't use the standard codex markings for anything.

I am making an Exorcist Captain first, but I have a score of the boys, and will eventually do a Carcharodon Astra too, but with this head here: www.shapeways.com/product/NZ9MCP5JK/mark-iii-marine-head-6-7-inch-1-12-scale?optionId=107926188&li=shops Size shoud be perfect, and I'll paint it with jaws on the faceplate, like in some novel covers. Hope they eventually also get around to doing non-Primaris in older armour variants, though that primris helmet is basically a Mark iV...

Amazing work! Do you have a source for some way to mock up a custom paint job layout before starting? I just got this figure and intend on painting it in a custom chapter before building an army to match. I think it would make a great reference model that doubles as a mascot and decoration.

I very rarely mock up a paint job. My philosophy is if I don't like it I can repaint it. On the rare occasion I do a mock up I use photoshop, I just color a picture of the unpainted figure. I am not great at it, but if you search for coloring an image in photoshop you can get videos of people who know what they are doing.

I did a mockup for a gundam model one time, I took the original artwork of the model and traced it out, then gave it the colors I wanted.

I would do pretty much the same thing. For the chipping on the edge I would use a dark blue grey color. I did a death company scheme using the same techniques here and it looked good on the back too. It was just a little more subdued.

why dont you put the paint on the right side so you dont have to move around the model every time?

Does the paint chip when you paint on the artist proof at all?

I haven't fully finished painting an artist proof one, but there should be no difference between that and this one. They just cast this one in blue plastic as opposed to grey. The key is a good primer, but even then you have to expect some wear around joints if you are moving them a lot.
