I'm 90% certain I recognise the exact Conq you're using as a reference, with the extremely distressed and rusty green paint. Poor thing has been sat in the corner of a field for decades and I'm not sure what is paint and what is moss/lichen any more. Lookin fantastic nightshift 👌

This channel is one more reason to look forward to Friday evenings :D Great work, Martin. About that 25 on the hull: Give water pencils a shot. Easy and very controllable, and you can wipe away any f***kups with water in a few seconds. Once dry, they're there to stay and if you clearcoat them, you're good regardless of what chemistry comes next.

Model: Requires serious rusting, weathering, etc. Uncle Night Shift: All your base are belong to us Huge respect as always, I'm an amateur digital and bog-standard pencil-on-paper artist. I reckon you spend more time mixing paints, priming and painting a single model than an average artist takes to construct, do line art, and render their drawing. Therefore, with many kudos, I watch your career with great envy.

Uncle Night Shift, can you please do a video on how you would build an ancient Tamiya or similar kit from the 1970's without using any aftermarket parts. Any extra detail you would do has to be made by you. I would love to see you build something like that and it would make for an interesting video watching you trying not to swear and throw it in the bin. Some really ancient figures would be good for a laugh too!

A tip from art school that helped me with my airbrush freehanding is practicing by drawing a square, circle, triangle and cross in a row 10-15 times and then each shape individually 10-15 times. The idea is to aim for consistency and speed, I still do it as a warm up hah!

Hi Martin!! I hope you see this... In an old book I have, there is a picture of a IS3 as a coastal defense artillery. The vehicle is really stripped down, and covered with rust, bird droppings, and a faint camouflage. It is dug in. Judging by the picture, it had been there for quite some time. I think it's an old Squadron Signal book. Have a great day!!! Alan

On the topic of brushes for weathering: I recently came across a set of "scratch brush erasers" by PK-Pro. They are handles with replaceable tips with different grades of hard bristles from nylon to wires. Might be useful for those hairspray chipping techniques you mentioned. Although I you could also experiment with making your own from an old toothbrush.

I am "enjoing" painting very large surfaces a lot. Right now I am building B-17 and B-25 1/32 simultaneously and its realy exhausting to paint this huege air planes.

I love it! You should do a video on some modern tanks. I'm working on a M1A2 Abrams kit rn and could use some pointers on how to make it look realistic. Instead of tons of rust, because I know that the US maintains these tanks, I wonder what some heavy weathering and mud would look like.
