Gotta say, just watching the Boys vibe and paint something they enjoy is a lot more fun than the stress of the 12 hr challenges.

Ha, the battle to actually get rid of the grey piles of shame. My mental trick to just basecoat all my models, block in all the colours, varnish, and do some simple baseing. That way they come to life and I can play with them without feeling bad. From three feet away it’s still totally cinematic. Actually getting some games in is my motivation, then if I’m regularly playing with an army I lavish my favourite models with washes, glazes, layering and highlights.

I'm glad you guys do 😂 it drives us insane. We've got a few kitbash diaries due in the new year actually, stick with us, they'll be out before you know it.

Iv been working on this challenge all year long in numerous ways. I stopped myself from buying so much plastic crack this year which has worked with some set backs. I sold off armies and random models I had the intentions of starting but now realizing I may never get to or by the time I do I wont care for them. My actual backlog challenge which was my new years resolution last year was trying to get most of my collection of Necrons painted in one year. That was majority of my focus with a handful of other projects added in for contest or just to take a break from the metal skeleton boys. So far I have managed to paint around 70 models with this last December paint challenge being the Necron half of Indomitus so that should get me over 100 necrons painted which is going to be so awesome and satisfying to see all collected together

Thats so exciting! Seeing an army progress is one of our favourite things about the hobby. 100 models is certainly one hell of an achievement too. What's been your favourite model to paint this year?

@@the_kieran_show my favorite necron Iv painted this year is definitely my 3 skorpekh destroyers. That may actually change to the Skorpekh lord once I finish that next week. But truthfully my favorite model overall this year was actually not a necron nor even a GW model. It was one of the space dwarves from the new Ravaged Star campaign MiniWarGaming has going on for a paint contest. I just finished it and its probably been the best work I have done 2 years into the hobby now

i would go insane if i planned to do more than a unit per weekend 😅

Quite the backlog...yep I have that too. Great progress there guys, well done. Maybe a small container is needed, only the models in it can be worked on. I tend towards creative perfectionism, it makes it really hard to get stuck in and paint my armies. I am working on trying different approaches to see what works better and helps me to get more paint on my models.

We're painting loads in our spare time at the moment, I'm sure we'll be able to show some cheeky army showcases and include them in some challenges before too long.

I am super excited for 4th edition AoS, and getting to paint my ratties. Want to be playing some Warcry too. I did the Hatchette Stormbringer collection to get me a bunch of guys for warbands and some army seeds. Going to end up with a full Stormcast Army between the original launch box, Hatchette and the 4th edition boss. Just need a few elites and characters really. Also been working up a Soulblight army because I'm a Goth/Rivethead so vamps are in my wheelhouse. Hmmm. I should get a generic lord character and name him Pietro Murphy.😂😂😂 Edit: you guys seem like a lot of fun to paint with, I'd ask if you accepted guests on these challenges if I was in the UK. Alas, I'm over in the colonies! But if you guys ever come over for a tourney, maybe we could work something out... ^_^

(Our right) K needs a tuition in how to paint quicker!! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing every time and expecting different results. K2 you are insane!

I don't think it's speed I think it's the tenacity of trying to paint multiple things at any given time 😂 Let's hope he learns (don't hold your breath) before next time!
