I love these videos! I didn't really get into color theory until I started mixing my DS paints. Something about them and their granulation has inspired me to really get into all of the mixing possibilities. Now I'm obsessed! 💖

I just got a half-pan of this from Teoh's paint sale and I love it, as well! I've been really into experimenting with granulating paints recently. Such interesting effects

The most helpful mixes were with the yellows and reds- notoriously hard to find granulating versions. Beautiful variations of these, and the ‘skin tones’ ranges.

Love it! But I have to confess that I'm a tiny bit addicted to swatching colour mixes (I justify it as my watercolour paints exploration) :D Thank you for your videos!

Very nice video..interesting color..I think I'm addicted to granulating colors.. I even use granulation medium in some of my non granulating paints. TY for doing this

It makes me feel like the English red earth (DS) and I just look at, and see it's the same pigment.

Oops - I thought we were at the end - I believe what I meant to say was the "second to last" color mixtures you swatched (maybe it was cerulean blue chromium mix)?

Oh, I enjoyed this so much!! I love granulation! So, I already have Indian red which is a granulating color also. Can you tell me how it compares to lunar red rock??

Could you use this or the lunar earth for some skin? Or is it too granulated? **newbie questions. Some for both seemed like some cheek colors.

I think most people would go for a non granulating pigment for skin, as you want it to look smooth, but every rule is meant to be broken when it comes to art, so I'd just try and see what you like! Jean Haines does say she likes mixing opera pink with yellow ochre for skin tones, and she knows her stuff ;)

What do you think about the last mixture for hydrangeas? Those beautiful flowers immediately came to my mind while watching you swatch.

Very Cool!! Loved this video and this color. Have to be said, "low keyishly".....fuck daniel smith with their ton of cool and expensive colors, i'll go bankrupt if i continue to enter in this videos, jackson's etc. Is definitely an addiction. I already have transparent red iron oxide by M. Graham which is also granulating and from same pigment so i guess this one won't be a priority but definitely is a one great granulating earthy red tone to get sometime down the line. 👍

Haha I'm shocked KZread didn't hold your comment for review with that language ;) It is an addiction, and I don't think anyone needs all the colors... But having such a range really allows one to find their perfect palette (and buy lots of unnecessary paint along the way ;) ). I personally always feel inspired and excited when I get new paints, but I do try to be selective, especially as my collection grows... I also tried to include similar colors to these in the video, popular colors that I'm sure many already have in their collection, so aboslutely no need to buy these!

@@iritlandgraf 👍👍 thanks for the reply! yes i feel spending some money with paints we might not end up using much is the only way to find those we really like, is part of the experience since is impossible to get things right the first time (picking colors or whatever) Cheers!! 👍
