Truly wonderful to see Nancy Kominsky again, in a full show, doing what she loved, bringing joy to the masses and teaching them at the same time. Let's hope more & more of her shows are rediscovered, so that we can watch, reminisce & love her all over again. Well done & great job to Retro Clips, keep up the good work!

@@80sandretrogubbins25 Thanks Retro, yes maybe! It was only slightly rough for a few seconds at the beginning, but the rest of our was great, well done. I've got a JVC HR-S9700, it might do better, but yours is pretty good. What would be interesting to know is what it might be like after an AI upscale restoration. I'll look into it.

@@thebadtemperedbrit The second episode is not quite as good as quality as this, but it's adequate as you will see next week. In both cases, the intro has not been caught, but the end has been.

Nancy is just one of those special people who stuck with me from childhood, she's got a natural charm & pizazz that caught this little boys attention when home from school in the 70's, and yes, I paint with a knife! What a great find! Thank you for posting! That you have a 2nd programme is amazing, many many of the HTV programmes are missing so to have these is brilliant. I am sure ITV Wales would be interested in having copies of these ( They hold both HTV West and HTV Wales archives. How brilliant these were found on an eBay bought tape. I hope you find more rarities. Well done again! Great find!

I believe their archive came under thr stewardship of the National Library of Wales.

Ah Alan Taylor....the OTHER Mr & Mrs presenter!! I seem to remember after a number of Mr & Mrs shows,at the end of a run Derek Batey(Border TV/ITV would officially "handover" the duties to Alan Taylor (HTV/ITV)....and you would see the changed host after the show....and vice versa!

Thank for uploading this. It's a wiped edition, you know....!!!!

I have a vague memory of this chap with her, but I'm not sure. I'm guessing this was an early show, the production must have felt that Nancy, and the audience, needed a friend to guide things along, they must have soon realised, she didn't need help from anyone ;-).

This appears to be from the second series in 1975. I think the later series were just Nancy.

@@80sandretrogubbins25 Ah really. Do you or anyone else know what the years of her shows were? I know she did a US version, was that first or after, and how many shows in total etc, would be great to know. It's so very sad that her son Michael was interested in getting her old shows onto YT, but then he stopped taking to me. Maybe one day, his descendants will find the tapes and do something with them.

Alan Taylor as ubiquitous in Harlech productions as Whiteley was in Yorkshire!

OMG, this is absolute gold. What a find! I loved this show (and the theme tune) although I was watching at the age of 2 or 3. It made a lasting impression and the presenters were such charming people. Do you have any HTV episodes of "Mr and Mrs" hosted by Alan Taylor?
