I listened to this album with my girlfriend back in January, and it was so bad that we both were severely dehydrated after the first 5 tracks and we had to stop listening.

i wanna see this whole album with stock images relating to the lyrics played over it.

Iced Earth has had a very rocky history (Although Burnt Offerings and The Dark Saga are downright amazing albums. "A Question of Heaven" and "Dante's Inferno" are two songs I constantly return to) It's a shame that IE is dead. But that's what it is; this is a rotting corpse. Schaeffer got abandoned by all his fellow band members (for being an idiot, not disputing that) and he's just trying to recoup what he lost One would think he would do so by sitting his ass down and writting some fucking baller riffs. Musicians have been pardoned for less if the music is good. But he is seeking redemption through the path of pure cringe.

Maybe Schaeffer's not trying to seek redemption for what he did. But I do believe that everyone who left IE were right to do so, considering what their bandleader had gotten up to and they were rightfully ashamed of him. It's deeply unfortunate that Schaeffer's ego, combined with his love for America has driven over half the band away. I can only hope that the ex-members are happy now. They deserve better than to be part of - let's be honest here - a 15-track compilation album filled with spoken-word remakes of IE's older songs. I can't think of one music critic who wanted anyone who's not a rapper or spoken-word poet to remake their greatest hits in that style.

man I haven't paid much too much attention to these guys especially for the past few years but I really never expected them to release something like this ever 😭

Political alignments aside, I find it impressive how John Iced Earth had basically full creative control and cooked up this. I remember when Daniel Brennare, of Lake of Tears, had no one left in the band, and was stuck with a contractual obligation to make one more album, he made The Neonai basically singlehandedly.

When you reread the lyrics for many of IE's songs since ~2008-09 they're just Jon's thinly veiled far right nonsense. That's around the time he helped found the Oath Keepers and also started his side project band Sons of Liberty, which is just Jon's far right nonsense spelled out explicitly. 9/11 broke his brain from what I gather and he just got progressively worse from there

He was so mad that barlow wanted to do something in his life he felt that would make a difference it was insane. My dad knew jon, jon outside of politics and music was a very nice guy to my dad but sadly got pulled into an alt right group.

Hearing them butcher the tune that got me into them in high school the MOMENT this album opens made me feel lied to until I relistened to the song again to feel sane.

I literally got an ad halfway through this video and I didn’t skip it for a minute because it blended in so well.

Thankfully, I played Splatoon 3 Salmon Run while "listening" to this stream in the background. One HELL of an expereince.

My absolute favorite part is when on the "song" Dante's Inferno, he manages to misspell the name of Cerberus, 3 headed guardian dog of Hades. Instead he calls him Cerebus, who apparently is an anthropomorphic pig from a Canadian comic series (that's also anti-lgbtq for some reason?!). I know this is the least wrong thing about this album, but for me it's a perfect microcosm of how pretentious, ignorant and poorly executed this whole project is. edit: nvm the mouseclick is the best part
