I've never heard any other singer capable of channeling this level of emotion into their singing. And it just sounds so fucking effortless!

@Adam1349 The studio version exemplifies the anger in the song, while this brings out the hurt beneath it. I like both, depending on my mood either will feel more fitting.

I agree. The studio version feels much more exhausted and dreary but this version just sounds heart breaking and vulnerable.

I don't know about you guys, but this is my favorite version of this song. The studio version is a masterpiece, but hearing it sung like this is quite possibly one of the most beautiful things that has ever graced my ears. Wonderful.

OMG! Daniel is so perfect *-* I almost cried in the "Let me breack the things i love i need to cry" part, it'so emotional and he sing it with such a power and pain, it's just amazing.

This is quite simply the best performance I've ever heard from any vocalist anywhere, ever, under any circumstances.

I love Daniel's display of raw emotion in this song. It makes me cry almost every time. This is why music was created, to convey our feelings to one another. This is my favorite performance by PoS.

I shivered when I heard that part. Daniel is amazing.

I saw them live last night at Rock For Moc, they have become top 10 best bands in the world, or that has walked on this earth. Daniel is Sweden/Scandinavian/world's best singer. They did a cover on the song Hallelujah and it sent shivers from my toes to my head. Imagine this. I was shaking and had a temporary affro. Love Henke from the band HaVeN

Such a powerful song. Even more powerful when you see it live, the emotions in action. Wonderful!

I simply cannot believe how incredibly, insanely good this version of this song is. Undertow was already one of my favourites, but I think this version is simply the best thing that I've ever heard in my entire life. I ADORE the way it goes from mellow to really hard and back to mellow. And Daniel puts out some of the greatest vocals ever. Miles ahead of the already awesome album version.

this video will always bring back memories for me one of the first live videos I saw of them I think it's what really made me love the song

2019 - I can't stop to hear it!

This is possibly my favourite Pain Of Salvation song. Daniel Gildenlow is an amazing singer.

This song always makes me cry... I believe it is the BEST song that has been ever written and it has a great meaning to me. It says everything I want to say and I'm unable to. I will never forget in my life the festival "Rock 'Em All" yesterday, here in Athens, where they sang Undertow and I really really broke down... I can travel anywhere in the world to listen to it again... Pain of Salvation, thank you for offering this song to the world. You just rock!

This brought me to tears now, I've never seen this live and Daniel is so fantastic in it. If they play this song in the next Brazilian concert (in June), I think I'll die! *_*

Damn it... I love this version too, but I'd really like a live version that goes more like the studio one, with the song staying powerful for the last two verses! Seems Undertow has always been performed like this live.

Such a great song. This is one of the bands simplest songs, but yet one of their best, which says a lot about how powerfull it is. Great singing, from Daniel of course, but also Johan. That scream before the anti-climax was gut wrenching.

To all of you arguing: music isn't about who can squeeze the most notes in a second or who can write the most complex songs. I recognize DT members are amazing musicians, but when it comes to portraying emotions through their songs, no one does it better than PoS (or actually, Daniel haha). Just listen to this song if you don't believe me. But seriously, just enjoy the music and stop arguing!
