It’s cause they really playing defense etc and their fundamentals are top notch because they don’t have the luxury of falling back on athleticism. This is as pure as basketball gets.

Paige's combination of defensive and offensive play against usc was monumental. She is one of the most complete basketball players in history. If paige can stay healthy, her impact on the game will be epic. I hope the whole nation tunes in for uconn vs iowa because we are going to see something very special.

She is UCONN's best player since Breanna Stewart. Breanna Stewart is the all time 🐐 of women's basketball at the NCAA level with 4 rings and 4 NCAA tournament MVP's between 2013 to 2016. UCONN hasn't won the NCAA championship since Breanna Stewart graduated.

@@lecowardjames Actually she kept them in it and was key in building that 12 pt lead with 4 min to go. Wasn't her fault that that her teammates missed 7 straight free throws at crunch time. Doesn't matter. They played strong D right to the final seconds. Best player on the court tonight.

and better, i look at this games and yoy actually feel the competition, unlike the wnba where you see a bunch of womens just missing easy plays consistently, and complaining about not getting paid millions like the man, when you got some middle school boys teams playing better than they are, not even high school or college.

NCAA Womens basketball is Better than Mens. And I Loved the mens tourney for years. But this year I’ve only watched Womens!!

Bueckers played great and hit some really big shots down the stretch. USC played great but kind of got outcoached, they have very good players and a superstar in Juju but I think they could have set her up more even though UConn was double teaming and scheming their defenses to make it tough on Juju. UConn really gutted out a win being shorthanded.

You sound like one of the few people in the comments who have actually watched the whole game. Paige and Juju’s performance offsets. The rest of SC was out played by UConn.

No, they didn't offset. Paige shot 50% from the field and from 3, JuJu shot 36% from the fiekdtand 33% from 3, that's awful. Moreover, Paige had more assists and okayed a spectacular defensive game, way better than JuJu and had half as many turnovers. Paige played a great game on both ends, very efficiently. JuJu was very inefficient, took a lot of bad shots, was out of control at times and she disappeared for much of the game on D. They most certainly did not offset one another, I'm not sure what gane you were watching.

@@chitownlivingston7007 Caitlin doesn't have a pull-jumper (yet). Paige has the complete game - outside, midrange, and can even post up. Caitlin can bomb threes and take it to the basket. I just don't see much of a midrange game from her.

@@LiberalsReadmyBioYou would be incorrect in your assertion. If you doubt me, check out highlights of Paige’s passing ability her freshman season. She was playing point and her full court passes to Christyn Williams were always on point. She’s averaging almost 5 assists per game, even though she is the third primary ball handler behind Arnold & Muhl. As for Clark, she has exceptional court vision and a deft touch on her passes. Her passing is more highlight reel quality, but look at the pass Paige made to Aaliyah Edwards for the easy underneath basket - her passing is nuanced. UConn doesn’t run a pell mell offense like Iowa because they simply don’t have the bodies this season. Each player thrives in their particular offensive scheme.

Nice to see Paige and Edwards stepping up...Mika plays great defense and the freshmen contribute...good team after so much adversity.

Her defense is a lot better than most of the other guards in women’s college basketball most of them struggle with basic defensive concepts like playing tight defense and challenging good shooters they go under screens on shooters and wander too far away from good shooters knowing they won’t contest the layup and will jog out to defend the shooter

I think Paige's best asset on defense might be her anticipation of what the other player is going to do she jumps a lot of routes and gets a lot of steals that way she seems to almost know what's going to happen therefore she sets up and is prepared ahead of time.

People say that but Iowa runs a different defensive scheme. No one who watches more than snippets of Iowa basketball doubts Clark's defensive abilities. Not to take anything away from Bueckers. That kid is fire.

I've seen clips of Paige practicing outside of the normal team practice, where her coaches are pushing her into off balance shots. All of these shots that you are seeing are ones that she has worked on and practiced like crazy. Her work ethic is very inspiring.

I think Caitlyn clark might be the best scorer in women college basketball but the reason I take paige over her is her ability to be efficient and her mentality to guard the best player on the opposing team. Women’s basketball may not be as talented but they still need their generational talent like Magic/Bird, Jordan, Kobe, LeBron to bring casuals to their stands. Players like Sabrina Paige and Caitlin can impact the game like that. I don’t care if they can’t dunk or shoot as well. It’s a different style and approach to the game. Just because high school games are not the same caliber as NBA doesn’t mean the locals don’t fill up the stands
