It's a shame that Antal Zalai's video of his performance of this piece on his own channel has less views than this video. He really is a great violinist. His smooth, focused sound is reminiscent of Kogan, giving the perfect balance between richness and sweetness. But his power, control, and temperament all remind me of Oistrakh.

@@rustyboi5402 now THATS the reason we all need long fingers
It's a shame that Antal Zalai's video of his performance of this piece on his own channel has less views than this video. He really is a great violinist. His smooth, focused sound is reminiscent of Kogan, giving the perfect balance between richness and sweetness. But his power, control, and temperament all remind me of Oistrakh.

Yes, and if you watch the video on his channel, you get the added bonus of seeing that he's completely removed the top 3 strings from his instrument and is playing a violin with only the G string on it.
Wait- oh my god... is this... ALL ON THE G-STRING?!
To be clear, I could never play this. But those last notes were terribly flat.

What do those hollow notes a 4th above the solid notes mean? And did Paganini actually write out all these dynamics and articulation markings and slurs or thats some editor's add-on?

This sounds like it was played on violin. I listened to performances of this played on the cello. Is it meant for violin/cello and is able to be played on either?

This piece was written for violin but it can be transcribed for cellos. It wasnt necessarily meant for cellos. Im interested now though, ima go look at the cello versions.
