A fascinating glimpse of these great pianists tackling one of the hardest pieces ever written, requiring tremendously agile finger work and a super fast octave technique ! It is very clever how you have edited it so as to give a sense of continuity in the music. Thanks Kim for this very exciting musical presentation ! Have a restful Sunday with your rabbits ! Warmest greetings, Paul

Dear Paul, your review means a lot, coming from a great pianist/composer whose music and musicianship I admire very much. I love all the seven pianists I featured in this video, they are all exceptional. Thank you for your visit and an outstanding review!
The way she brings Evgeny Kissin back for the ending🔥
I absolutely adore the smile Alice Sarah Ott gives at 1:02 , always great to see a pianist enjoying what they’re playing

Wonderful choice and great selection.
Thank you for posting this video . I just found this recently and really enjoyed . Actually Ashkenazy is one of my favourite pianist too . Also now Nobuyuki . - I found him on You Tube . Nobuyuki played many piano concertos with Ashkenazy (as a conductor) , and Ashkenazy said Nobuyuki is one of his favourite young pianist. He praised Nobuyuki is so musical and so clear , so organic and his pure heart creates beautiful sounds . It’s pleasure to watch two of my favourite pianists play together .

You're welcome and thank you very much for watching and for the fantastic comment! I also love Ashkenazy but haven't seen or heard him playing La Campanella. I like what he said about Nobuyuki Tsujii, it's so true.
What a lovely edit. All these people are absolutely superhuman, but I think the Kissin performance is my favourite. And Valentina Lisitsa should be here too.

I considered adding Valentina also, but her version was faster so didn't flow smoothly with the others. Thank you for watching and for the nice comment.
Wow ... fantastic performance !!!! Big like !
My favourites are the interpretations from Yundi Li, Trifonov, and Kissin. That hair on Kissin LOL. At first I thought Tsujii's movements were "too possy" like those of Lang Lang's, but then I looked him up and and wow! He's blind! Immediate total respect. How does his fingers know where to jump like that without seeing? And btw, you did an amazing job with the transitions. ♪

Glad that we share the same favorites. Hahaha...I have seen Kissin with even bigger hair. :) I admire Tsujii's ability to play so exceptionally well as a blind person. He is amazing!! Thank you very much for the fantastic review, Evellial!!! I am happy to have your on my channel. :)

@@MelodiousHeart1 After I left that comment, I spent the next 3 hours on YT just watching Tsujii play different pieces, and now he's one of my favourite pianists! The way he played Chopin's Nocturne in C# minor & Debussy's Claire De Lune was out of this world. ❤️❤️❤️

Too many mistakes in Yundi Li's performance. Way too many. Insert Beethoven quote, sure, but the others are able to be just as musical while not having the density of technical mistakes.

Hi Kim! Great to see you again with this great compilation of sterling performances from the "greats"!! La Campanella is almost a rite of passage for the top level concert pianists and truly a sparkling work for the virtuoso! All phenomenal pianists you presented here, but I do favor Lang Lang....no one more crisp and emotional in his play in my humble opinion! Just as good for me is the great Nobuyuki Tsujii....he FEELS it!! BRAVO! ~Jackie

Εxciting playing.!!!Congrats dear Kim.!! Everything is enchanting and wonderful in this fascinating race who runs the pianist with his fingers on the keys. Each time the keys hitting the notes come to reward him and his approval of spectators with a warm applause. The pianist is so committed to this game all his senses are there, keeps the keys loud and it runs over the notes.. At the end he is waiting for the big applause. Greetins from GREECE. Vasilis.

i like yundi's and kissin's version best, sharp and clear staccato with superb control of volume. even it is pp melody is still clear. it kills me to hear the transition from 3:29 to 3:30, really dislike lang lang's interpretation. some pianists let left hand play too loud, especially at the coda.

This got me so excited... and then I was let down... and then I was well-pleased. Excited first because I thought was going to hear 7 different pianists play the whole thing so I could compare them (something I had already done with three pianists). Disappointed that instead seven different pianists played portions of one hearing of La Campanella. Well-pleased to hear how seamlessly you were able to blend the different artists so that if not watching one would think one artist was playing the whole thing! Extra pleased to see you included Nobuyuki Tsujii, one of my favorite pianists. His recording of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto is my all-time favorite rendition of that concerto. The fact that he can play so well with great pathos and interpretation while swaying and turning his head constantly and almost never missing a note brings tears to my eyes. We are "fearfully and wonderfully made...and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalm 139:14)
