This operation reminds me of my grandfather. He worked construction and had a passion for it. Always got to the site early, got home late, straight as an arrow, provided everything for his family, had incredible values and was loved by everyone in our neighborhood. Good old days when you worked and you were proud of your job and company. I see these people working for 40+ years for Padrón and it’s amazing. Think about everything they have gained in those 40+ years (knowledge, house, car, food, and etc). We should appreciate loyalty more than anything.

Right-on. I suppose that in my generation and place in the American professional workforce (I’m 45), loyalty only gets you burned. Why? Because true leaders are loyal to their teams and people…but true leaders are far and few between. Thank goodness we have a hobby that centers us and allows us to savor not only a great cigar…but savor all the things we strive-for. Cheers.

I've been to (apparel) factories in Central America. They were clean, modernized, and organized. This looks to be on that level. I've seen and worked in worse factories here in California. If you haven't been to or worked in a factory before, I could see why you'd feel there's a sweatshop vibe - until you've actually been in a "sweatshop". Also, keep in mind it's humid down there, and they need the environment to remain humid for the sake of the tobacco. Otherwise, many factories down there are actually climate/ac controlled.

Padron cigars are the best cigars on the planet, better than Cubans, the 1964 are my go to cigars, back in the 1980s I was a cigar buyer for the liquor store where I worked, I had purchased a box of the 1964 Exclusivo for myself and although they were wonderful I didn't think they were as good as normal, I told the gentleman that I purchased from,at Diebels Cigars and within an hour I got a call from Padron Cigars and they sent me a box at no charge, I asked if they needed the other box and they told me to keep it, they were so good, wonderful people to work with, what's crazy is I never asked for anything, just wanted to tell them that the cigars were not up to their standards, Diebels and Padron are great people

I ordered a box of the sun grown 3000s and the maduro 3000s and have not been in the least dissatisfied with them. Padron is easily my favorite cigar maker. Every cigar is constructed perfect and the flavors go great with my favorite whiskeys. Thank you for making this documentary and showing us the process of how they make their cigars! Padron makes the best cigars! I don't understand how they do it, so much flavor! There are so many other cigar companies out there and very very few even come close. I do smoke other cigars but when I want a cigar that I know for sure will burn right and satisfy every time I smoke a Padron. My go to Padron right now is the 1926 No. 6 maduro. I also smoke a lot of the 1926 No. 90 maduros, they are so freaking good! I have never had a Padron cigar I didn't like, only some I prefer more than others. I wish I could of met Mr. Jose Orlando Padron. Rest in peace sir. You will definitely be remembered by me and every other Padron lover!

@@MrGTI05 Haha, I'm faced with the exact same dilemma! That, and I seem to be chasing the dragon, so to speak, as most of the subsequent ones I've had haven't been quiiiiite as good as that first one, haha!

Great review ! Very informative and interresting ! I am going to smoke soon my first Padron cigar, a Padron Traditional Series 4000 Maduro. I wanted to try first a non expensive cigar of them, just to see if I want to go further. I think I will like it and can't wait to try there 1926 cigar...

21:44 - I don't understand how can the smoking be the favorite part of the tour when you can smoke everywhere and anytime, but seeing the manufacturing process is a unique experience.

Padron are very well made cigars. I believe they use some of the best tobaccos available year after year. I've been smoking cigars on a daily basis for 40 years plus. The only Padron cigar I ever smoked that I truly enjoyed was a Padron 3000 in maduro, and IIRC it was a Toro. I bought 3 boxes of them out of a small shop in Florida via phone. This was smack dab in the middle of the first cigar boom. Their high end stuff has something in the flavor profile that I find to be very off putting. I've tried them 30 to 40 times and never been able to get through a single cigar. I also honestly believe they are among the most over priced cigars on the market and have been for decades. This is just my personal opinion. Fortunately, the vast majority of cigars I enjoy are priced at reasonable levels. I'm stunned at how many brands now have cigars in the $20 to $100 price range. I'm even more stunned at how briskly they sell.

Haven’t had a Padron yet, going to have to get one. Everyone says it’s the most consistent smoke. What should I start with? I love the Oliva G, O, and V right now.

A real great American story!! We are all immigrants, but nowadays ppl expect a hand out instead of working for it or going about it in the wrong way..... Then have nerve to fkn complain!!! Go back to the 3rd world living and complain to them that u had the chance and the world by the balls but we're lazy! I love a story like this! Amazes me also when u hear ppl coming up from nothing or traveling to a country with $10 and have it all now! God Bless all the hard workers that keep America & their families happy & healthy!

I've never had a bad Padron cigar. The 1964 maduro is my favorite. I like them so much I've never even tried the 1926. Weird, I know. Someday I'll fix that.
