23 July 2023.Murugan. while I was working then Bombay International Airport in 1977 actress Padmini was travelling to U.s. In the transit lounge she was trying to call by using public phone with one Rupee coin.Her many attempts failed. I approched her and helped her to call from a shop in the transit lounge.After about 4 months l was in the International arrival. Padmini was arriving from U.S. .As soon as she saw me ,she rushed to me for early immigration clearance.I got her immigration clearance. She was very happy for that help.Normally such are done to VIPs.I never forget her.She is great.I am happy to see her above interview .

I loved the transformation of a celebrity actress-dancer into a teacher, family maker, a traditional and dignified South Indian... even in a foreign land after decades there. Wish all well.

It is by chance I stumbled on this interview. I must say that it was a very interesting, frank and down to earth interview I have watched in a long time. I have seen many Hindi films of Padmini and enjoyed everyone immensely. Padmini was so precise in her answers and did not hesitate to answer any questions posed to her by Chandrashekar. What a lady! Love her extradionary dancing. Unforgettable legacy left. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Padmini was more known and famous in Hindi and Tamil cinema than any other languages.

Legendary actress, Padmini is all India popular actress even international. When an interview like this they must write English sublitles it will be great. There are people with hearing disabilities who get very much disappointed to miss to understand so English subtitles are worth on utube.

My brother and I, now in our 70's will never forget walking into the old Atlantic Video in Richardson TX. and buying the VHS of "Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai" Padmini knocked us out.. words fail. We quit the music we were playing, bought Sitars, and with Indian teachers in Dallas started learning. My brother went on to play Sitar at an Indian restaurant in Dallas for 14 years... all inspired by this movie. This interview was so fantastic.. I've still got goosebumps from just seeing and listening to her. What a blessed day.

She is a legend beyond compare. She will always be remembered.

I met Padminiji in new york Queen in temple and learned few steps from herin 1974 it was so sad to know when she passed away i have seen many films when i was in india missing her even now

Circa early 80s I understand from the interview. And yes, PS movie was supposed to have been in plans in the 60s I think, but got shelved. All top stars including Padmini Amma were to be in the film.

IN the year 1977 when I saw Padmini garu for the first time in Hindi movie played with Raj Kapoor Saab what a beautiful face at that time I can't forget that face and the same is in my mind thank God for seeing her once again

I remember Lalitha/Padmini/Raghini sisters in 1960 in films specially one of the comition ten miniute long dance with Vyjanthimala vs Padmini in film was a wonderful performance She was proud for Kerala as an international artist in Indian filim Industry I rray 26:30

padminiji was also a stage artist. I had seen one Tamil drama in shanmukhananda hall Bombay. I had the opportunity to see her close on the back stage. Very beautiful personality and on stage she performed excellent. Very great artist of Indian cinema.
