SCUBA DIVING is DANGEROUS. You cant learn to dive on the internet. These demosntrations and tutorials are for your interest and entertainment only. You need to take a Scuba Diving Course with a qualified professional Scuba Diving instructor at your local dive centre. This professional will be able to guide you through all these skills and the relevant safety theory in a confined and safe environment.
If you would like an assistance in finding an instructor to work with then place leave a message in the comments section and I will do my best to help you find a great instructor near you.

Thanks for the tip about the education portion! It's like 699$ CAD before taxes to get open water certified here and that can be a barrier! (but also learning about some of those things like rupturing your lungs DOES make me want to get proper training to do this safely. I am looking at becoming a liveaboard sailor and scuba diving (shallow dives) are somewhat essential skills for under the waterline boat repairs. Thanks I will keep looking into things
Quite like this channel. Good job as always. Also many thanks about the SSI online training.

@@WaterlineShorts Paul. A wee request is a short clip on entry and exit procedures for both scuba and snorkel diving. Walking in from the beach, boat entry and jumping from a height. Many people overlook these basics. Lots of explanations on clearing masks but not a lot about entry-exit or for that matter underwater navigation.
I looked for the online courses your described and the link doesn’t work….l am also looking for a good instructor in Tallahassee Florida if you have any suggestions

Run the inside with toothpaste. That will wipe away the residue from manufacturing. You will still need fog drops or spur spit every dive.

Best to do a course when you go on holiday. You can do all the theory online Before you go
Is the free theory still legit? Ie. Will it be accepted at all dive centres as sufficient to do your pool dives and open water dives? I was thinking of doing my pool training and open water abroad (I’m in the UK) and wouldn’t want to travel there without proper certification etc

@@scubabro9471 You're told to never stop breathing, but it's not as extreme as it sounds. You use your lungs for buoyancy too. So if you want to ascend, for example, you take a deeper breath. That's how we are able to ascend/descend without moving our arms or legs.

Just equalize as often as you feel, there's nothing wrong with equalizing frequently.

So whats the actual cost of getting the certification? I want to get into this? I was a firefighter so ive done the scba or self contained breathing apparatus training and used it countless times.

You'll want to start with your open water ceritication. Prices very on location and the dive shop. Around 200-600 for your owc
I can equalise my ears without blocking my nose. I don’t know if this is a common ability. I just kind of move my jaw and some muscles in my neck.

I can equalise wiggling my jaw at the surface but not underwater. The pressure affects it for me. It's different for everyone. Happy diving

"Mask Clearing is a skill you will use on every Dive" Well I guess it could be if your mask does not fit you correctly, I guess I was lucky to have an Instructor who took the time to explaine how to find a Mask that fits and seals right, then when I asked he spent the 45min it took to help me find and test Masks and there seals until I found one that I not only loved the design but that also correctly sealed to my face... I rarely ever had Mask leaks witb that mask or any other that I have bought and tested since and I have been diving since 1994 so been thriugh a lot of Masks as well... Lol

Well in terms of Brands I quite like Scubapro. Im interested in a Hollis BCD for slightly more tech diving. But really it depends a lot on what you want to get out of it. What kind of diving are you looking to do and how often are you diving?

There is an element of danger but good training will limit that significantly
He's just getting creative with words. Smooth talker. Learning to SCUBA is not difficult but, it's not for everyone. First...can you swim? You'd be surprised at how many want to learn but can't swim. This video, long on rhetoric and short on specifics.

@@WaterlineShorts That's a poor comparison. I've never driven a boat, but I assure you if I saw one flipped I'd know it was wrong. This person is giving honest feedback about your work. You don't seem interested in being helpful, so I'm hoing to take his word and avoid this video.

Not really sure what you mean. I didn't offer a comparison. The comment above is suggesting that in a five minute video I've left out specifics. They insult me "smooth talker", "rhetoric". I could have just deleted the comment but I decided to leave it and challenge the commentator. I am in fact trying my best to be helpful to those who want help. If you read comments on my videos you will see that I leave very specific comments when people ask. The above was just a jab at me so gave back. Disregard the info but all means. It's free to anyone who cares to watch.

“How to scuba dive in 5 minutes” *the video takes **5:01** minutes* Jk
Clearing masks, and working on buoyancy does not equal "How to scuba dive." I know SSI's site has some great resources, but I wanted a quick refresher video of the dos and don'ts of scuba. I like a lot of your videos, but this is kinda scammy.
