PADDOCK PARADISE - How to Make a Track System for Your horses!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is a detailed overview about how you can make your own "Paddock Paradise" for your horses. This comprehensive overview covers all of the basics and loads of tips we learned along the way.
Hi, I'm Jill! I have been a student of the horse for over 30 years. Delighting in both how we can help horses and how horses can help us.
Perhaps you are like me and feel it in your bones. You know there should be a path with horses (and with life) that doesn’t require dominance. Yet, so often the world tells us otherwise. And, every time we have a setback, there is some naysayer ready to say, “I told you so!” That peer pressure can be so compelling. Without support, it is easy to either drop our goals, and just “hang out” with our horses or keep our goals and give in to the status quo. I have spent years navigating these challenges and would love to share with you, what I have learned so far - and what the horses are teaching me every day.
We hope you will join us on this journey!

@@bridlesandbreath I just redrew my property deleting the wanna-be arena. Now I have to figure out where the round pen goes. Another adventure for sure.

Thank you for all of this wonderful information! We are in NC and there doesn't seem to be much on the track systems. I'm excited to try it!

Absolutely terrific. I notice u set up hay in only 2-3 locations? Where as others have haynets all around to keep them moving? If hay is in 2-3 locations, which i find easier 4 the person filling the nets, dont the horses just stay in those areas to eat all day w/o walking? Thank u Janice

That's a great question. I have not found that to be true. My mares like to stay at the same hay net for about an hour and then off they go to find a new station. :)

Would pea gravel work around a water tank that gets muddy? Looking forward to designing a new system for my farm 😊

Yes it will. When I dump out the water trough for cleaning - sometimes it will wash some away - so I will just rake it back in front of it. :)
