I kayaked a fun section of class ll whitewater rapids at Patapsco Valley State Park Avalon and rockheavan areas outside of Baltimore, Maryland. This section was only 1 mile included bloode rapids and the small class l-ll rapids by the orange grove area. River was flowing at 350cfs at the Holiefield gauge and based on my experience 250-300 would be perfect for a fun and chill class l-ll ride but with levels above 350 it becomes some class lll. Note we portaged around a rapid that created a big hole and also weeks prior encountered a sweeper so make sure to scout it out before riding. Overall good to get out here in the spring and I will definitely be doing more adventures on the river this year so stay tuned and subscribe. Every week I post an outdoor adventure.
