The sand stars worked well in that deep snow! It was cool to see you blazin trail with fresh tracks. Bummer it blew up, the ride back would’ve been fun with everything packed down. At least you have more quads 😅👍

Sand Stars work awesome I prefer my wooly booger atv tires in snow and sand they work pretty good when you gonna be at silver lake again looking to Rip now that I have a few quads now we had to start over after the move now we have 5 quads my son's ATV 2 buggys a UTV Side By Side Tow Truck my Manco Dingo Off-road Go Kart I've had for ever old faithful and 6 Off-road mowers for backup and so friends and family have something to ride when they come over

Ice screws work way better on some old spare tires! But w sport quads really 5-6” max snow on the ground is really all your gna be able to ride threw with out over working your machine!

I use the 4 snows on my 450 and they work great! Sick bike man!

If you have deep snow and no snow mobile, your best option is a dirt bike. Just use regular tires in good contrition. You can literally go anywhere with them. The deeper the snow, the better it works. If you want to go on ice, you need to put screws in your tires.

I thibk we have enough snow to try out the paddles in the snow(west coast of Michigan). The stock banshee tires on the yfz sont like the snow to much but the ambush rears on the atc200x seem to love biting the snow.

I’m no KZread mechanic but I would almost check for a broken wire on the key switch. I noticed it was flopping around out on the hood, with the cold I would say the wires were brittle. I did hear quite a bit of valve chatter too though. Best of luck with it!

Just ran my stock 20 Raptor in 12” yesterday in mason county Michigan. Running 24” duro’s in the front and 22” bear claws out back. There’s no replacement for displacement man!

Brewer Off-road you need a UTV Side By Side Tow Truck for all the toys you have pick up a Sears Suburban Garden Tractor with a 3 point hitch and make a Tow Boom with a Winch they help out a ton and come in handy for cleaning the trails

Snag up a set of Wooly Boogers ATV tires they are awesome in the snow and in the sand I remember my second lap around our track this winter it was a Bitch when you get off track lol

@@BrewerOffroad yup.. I think it's the biggest bored and stroker kit available for the 700r.. my 660 is being a pain in the ass tho.. it idles fine but dies when I give it throttle.. new carbs installed.. 140/145 mains.. 22.5 pilots stock motor with only a hot cams kit

We went about 3 years with only 2 inches a year and then this year we have had like 24 inches total

Did the same thing in deep snow with my Honda 250 :(

The new ex’s are garbage. Most uncomfortable seat ever and mine actually had one of the rocker pins back out while riding and was touching my leg before I noticed, it was still running but only off one exhaust valve. I tore the cover off and put everything back in place and got it back together and it smoked like no other after that. It was only two years old when it happened. And the pre 05 400’s are still out there going strong

I have wanted a Raptor since they came out when I was in middle school. I forgot about it/gave up on it for several years. I finally got a 2004 660 yesterday. It's not perfect, but I've already ordered most of the parts needed to get it back on track...hopefully. Mostly cosmetic stuff but a new key switch and key as the old keyway is so worn that it no longer holds the key securely so you have to turn it on and pull the key so you don't lose it. Anyways, you'll get it eventually if you really want it. There are a few older 400ex for sale around here for less than $3k.

Gonna miss my 400ex man. Selling it to get a renegade 570 xmr. Gotta do some stuff to it tho. Burns oil so I’ma put new valve seals in there and most likely new rings. But I have a question about the rings. Is the ring set piston std stock bore (partzilla is where they are located) meaning I won’t have to bore my cylinder. I can just use the stock cylinder and put new rings in it.

Yeah I would probably just do rings and inspect the piston. Clean the valves and replace the boots

I haven’t watched the video yet but I’m shaking my head that you put the front tires on, you should of left the stocks on and just put the paddles

So after further investigation I think the rings siezed and it lost compression. Definitely alot of damage to the top end. It was burning a quart of oil every ride before this video so it was in need of a rebuild haha

Tractor Tread Paddle tires are awesome snow paddles you have some sweet trails if you don't mind me asking where is this for sand paddles they look like they work awesome snag up a set of Tractor Tread Paddle tires from tractor supply put them on a spare set of rims best winter tires I've ran them on my three wheeler my off-road mini rail buggy's like rather be weldings orange buggy ran them on our honda odyssey our manc dingo our quads and a couple of our off-road mowers if you want to get something cheap and fun for friends and family to ride snag up a off-road go kart manco dingo honda odyssey or a off-road mower There are pretty fun do a double pulley swap bigger pulley on the engine smaller on the rear makes them twice as fast we picked up a honda odyssey fl250 the other day we have a Craftsman Lt1000 20.5 Brigg's & Stratton turbo cooled 6 speed double pulley swap runs about 55 / 60 awesome off-road mower atv handle bars

If any body had any idea how hot a 400ex gets when you are just cruising around it would make you think twice before you done much hill climbing and that hard lugging in the snow I’d say it cooked it inside out. It has no compression hardly at all

I've used my sand stars in the snow also they work well but I didn't like the smooth front tires either so I switched to a nobby tire in the front. And I wish we had that much snow up here, I have a ski doo sitting in the garage just waiting to rip.

@@BrewerOffroad Haha thats the truth! Picked up my 01' for 500 bucks, just needed the oil filter cap tapped with new bolts. Rocking an old school Pro-Circuit T4, loud as hell and super nasty. Not sure whats been done to it other then tons of 450R parts on it, extended A-Arms along with a bunch of other parts. Ive been riding in 1-2 foot snow with bald holeshot tires lmao
