This song was composed by Grace Nono in Agusan del Sur, CARAGA Region, Philippines in 1990. It was arranged by Bob Aves and recorded by Grace Nono in 1991 for her first album, Tao Music (Record Plant 1992, BMG Pilipinas 1993). Why do they pronounce some words wrong? The vocals are beautiful, though. Just curious if it would make any difference if they used the native accent.

In singing particularly words are sometimes different when pronounced to also enhance the performance and make it more interesting and it is also better for singers to pronounced especially closed vowel ones (e.g. kining, kinabuhi) those with letters i and e.

Why do they pronounce padayon as padayin? As well as other words with 'o', they're turning it to 'i'. Higayon → Higayin Kusog → Kasig Ayayayooo → Ayayayieee Why? It doesn't suit well with the language. UMC's version sounded better.
