Paco's Tacos Mural in San Francisco's Mission District - 1974 dedication

The Paco's Tacos Mural or "Para El Mercado" was created by Las Mujeres Muralistas, Consuelo Mendez, Graciela Carrillo, Susan Cervantes and Patricia Rodriguez, in support of locally opened businesses and in opposition to McDonald's moving into the neighborhood. Michael Nolan interviews Consuelo and Patricia as well as Roger Hernandez, an active parishioner at St. Peter's Church. Video by Optic Nerve (now Ideas in Motion). September, 1974. See missionlocal.org edited piece by Ayla Albayrak.

This is a wonderful film documenting community life and activism in the Mission. RIP Michael Nolan, the good soul who made this movie.
