Thank you for the information. 14 days. 5 different airplanes was an adventure in its self!
Hahaha good for you!!! I draw on my black light luggage with white fabric marker!! And yours was so much smarter than a Tumi!!! They are soooo heavy!!!!
That's a great idea, nestling protein powder in water bottle.

i agree, Claudia :)
Thank you for sharing your packing tips. I had not thought of the hangar method for 2-3 days of clothing and I think I’ll definitely try that on my upcoming trip to France. I also like the idea of a rolling backpack. Nowadays with all of the lost luggage, it’s great to be able to do carryon only but as you said, it’s good to be prepared with a small tote bag/ purse to transfer valuables into if you are forced to gate check.

Thanks - I'm working on the ocean cruise packing now.
Hanger method is different and unique!
I use a similar combination of bags-Travelpro spinner, Vera Bradley rolling backpack, and crossbody purse. This is a set up that I can handle on my own.
Thanks, great video

Happy you liked it - safe and fun travels
Very interesting! My daughter and I are doing a 2-week Viking cruise in mid-November from Budapest to Amsterdam. Our air was included free and we also got a great price on the cruise. We did a week long Christmas markets cruise last December on another line so it will be interesting to compare a 1-week vs 2-week river cruises on different lines. I have done 40+ ocean cruises (where I get free laundry due to my cruise line loyalty) so packing for a 2-week cruise with no laundry will be a challenge ( the cost of sending out your laundry on a River cruise is ridiculously expensive!). Any additional tips will be appreciated!

The floor in the bathroom is heated, and there is a control to make it hotter. Bring some clothes pins and a small cord - then you can rinse out things in the shower, hang them up, and they will be dry by morning. Enjoy your trip - the river boats are amazing.

@@sandijerome thank-you! I was thinking the same thing that in order to travel lightly, we will need to rinse some of our things out along the way. I’m also debating whether to extend our cruise at the end in Amsterdam as we really don’t get to experience that. I did find the prices charged by Viking to do this were outrageous though so I was thinking of doing this independently. I’m not sure if Viking will add a surcharge to change our return flights if we do this?

@@joandobrijevic7572 We handled our own flights and Amsterdam hotel - so not familiar with their fees - sorry. We stayed at the Hotel Hilton - because we had stayed there before and didn't plan a lot of things in Amsterdam.
I didn't take an iron, but I did take a flat iron for my hair, and that was okay. I sprayed my clothes with hot water and then were fine the next day.
Thank you for posting this video. So nice to see a new (to me anyway) way to pack clothing. The rolling backpack is a great personal item!

Thank you so much - it has taken many years and trips to find just the right fit for me!
It would be really helpful to know what meds or OTC drugs you took to "fight" COVID other than the Paxlovid rx

I love packing videos! Your hanger strategy with 3 days of clothes is amazing! Where did your cruise start and end ? I am looking into either a Rhine or Danube , did you like Viking? Thanks

One more question. Do you have a formal night that you need a nice evening dress?
@sandijerome
Жыл бұрын
On a Viking River Cruise - no. It was very casual and I wore black slacks and a nice blouse at night.
Wouldn't having many transfers be an ideal reason to not check your luggage, because it could get lost in one of the transfers?

I agree - the risk goes WAY up - but we knew that we couldn't handle that much luggage with our balance/sight issues.

@@sandijerome Thanks for the explanation, that makes perfect sense.
Love your packing and thanks for the ideas. But with everything you shown is that under 15 lbs? Isn’t international travel carryon have to be 15-19 including the wait on the luggage?

We never had anyone look at our carry-on - but I don't think it was very heavy since I often wore it on my back.
Love your video. What is the brand of the beautiful red jacket you are wearing?

And she told you why she has it - if she is required to check the backpack, she can use it for some of the contents that she doesn’t want to check. I have purses of all sizes and some are that big. Just depends on what you need to carry.

They are actually used to wrap around suitcases to keep them shut, but also make a nice "joiner" of two bags. You can get on Amazon amazon.com/BlueCosto-Luggage-Straps-Suitcases-Suitcase/dp/B08XJYKWW4/?th=1
Hello! Did the backpack wheels stain your clothes from being dirty or not really? Thank you.
@sandijerome

Sorry to take so long, just dug out my backpack today for another trip and the wheel are pretty clean. So I put some baby powder on them and a black shirt - and no problem. There is a plastic frame on the bottom that seem to hit just right to keep the wheels from touching my back. I hope this helps!
