Im originally from California but currently live in spain. I have been traveling between the US and Spain as well as other countries all my life to visit family. I cannot tell you how many times my (or family or friends) luggage has been delayed, lost or I have missed a connecting flight and couldn’t access my luggage. Here is my tip: always carry in your hand luggage at least a set of pijamas and, if you are having a connecting flight, a change of clothes. Split the clothes between large luggage if you are taking more than one; make sure that every person in your traveling party has at least 1 full outfit change in every large luggage piece that will be checked-in. That way, if 1 luggage is lost or delayed, everyone in your party has clothes for a day or two. I’m lucky enough to almost always have my luggage delayed on the return flight so I’m not out of clothes as I am home when it has been delayed but that is not always the case. I have had on a few occasions (3 specifically come to mind) where I have missed a connecting flight and my layover goes from 2-3 hours to 8 hours and by then I just feel better with a change of clothes and some food. My friend went on her honeymoon to Thailand and her stuff was in one luggage and her husband in another. His luggage was lost and took 3 days after arrival to make its way to their hotel, 1/2 day before they were going to depart for one of the islands. He had to buy clothes in Bangkok because he didn’t want to wear her dresses. When my brother moved back from Illinois to California after university he had 4 pieces of luggage. 1 made it home with him, 2 showed up 5 months later and 17 years later we are still waiting for the 4th.

Blimey!! This is making me nervous hahah. I fly around 14 times a year (7 trips) and I do often pack spare clothes but I just decided against it this time x

SO EXCITED!!

I used the packing pouches for the first time in May after watching your videos & absolutely love them, made life so much easier at the hotel. Our next trip isn’t until end of August/early September 2020 but I’m just so happy we’ve booked & for the first time will be experiencing the Disney dining plan 😃 We’ve been to Orlando loads of times since our first trip nearly 20 years ago but only stayed onsite at Disney the once when my daughter was 2 & she’ll be 22 when we go next year! We loved staying onsite at Universal this year so can’t wait to experience Port Orleans French Quarter & all the lovely Disney snacks! Enjoy California, I went to Disneyland back in 1991 after working in America for the summer & did a road trip from Seattle down to LA! My daughter did a similar one last year but travelled from Chicago to LA but she only visited Universal out there so I think a trip to California will be pencilled in at some point in the next few years. Luckily my youngest who’s 13 loves all things Disney & Universal. 😃

You have outdone yourself, this is your best packing video yet! We are going to WDW in April, and this video inspired me to add binder clips to the packing list, which we use instead of chip clips (so much cheaper). I have a quite extensive spreadsheet that I use for packing lists, and it currently has six lists for the different types of trips we go on, and I work on the lists as needed and share with my husband (which came in super handy before our first WDW trip because I became violently ill and he had to pack everything).

@@brogantatexo Still enjoying for sure, that's a good idea about the unpacking, I think most dread it but needs to be done, why does it take no time to pack yet takes ages to unpack, even if you don't bring back loads more extra stuff, xxx

The tip to buy extra toiletries if you need to at your holiday destination is very useful. I found myself buying extra shampoo and conditioner while I was in South Shields in case I’d run out.

Do you think packing cubes are essential? Im not sure if I will find them usefull I can get alot of stuff in a small space and not sure if they will help or hinder me. Im planning on going to California in Feb and want to bring back as much as i can so dont want to use loads of space in my suitcase going out for clothes.
