Hey Julia-when you sell something from your own closet, that’s like a garage sale item and the proceeds are not income taxable. So, instead of entering the $20 as profit, you should enter the cost of goods at $20 to zero out the proceeds for your taxes. (And enter the sourcing location as “household goods” or something like that, if you track this.)

This is SUCH important info! My accountant, luckily, taught me how to enter this kind of stuff a year or two ago, but I never feel comfortable bringing it to the masses because, clearly, I'm not an accountant! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing!!!

White House Black Market is one of my favorite bread & butter brands! I'm very cautious on COGs and it depends on style/how recent it is, keywords and all that jazz, but it's a favorite for me. When I worked in an office, it was also like the only place I shopped; I love a lot of their pieces

Oooohhh! Maybe I'll start picking up a little bit more when I see it - to be sure, the quality on anything I've felt from them (or owned - back when I worked in a "business casual" setting, I wore a lot from there as well - it was there and Loft for me...), is really nice quality and - most importantly, washed up beautifully!

White House Black Market sells well for me based on size and style. I have recently sold a pair of wide leg jeans for $40 & a trench coat for $55 both listed less than a month. I basically only pick it up at the bins.

Woah! Those are some great sales! Ok then - I think i'll start picking up a few more pieces as I see them here and there! It's always a brand I hate leaving behind because their quality is always so nice!

I found a cute whbm black dress (size xl) and it was literally the first item I sold on eBay earlier this month. Got it at the bins for $1.67 and sold it for $21.99. I’m so glad to hear you send the higher end items to the dry cleaner!! I plan on doing the same if needed. I have a CHI steamer that looks like a garment bag - it’s amazing!! You put the entire item in the steamer to disinfect and get wrinkles out. It’s so quick and easy. I don’t think they are produced anymore - well worth finding a used one.

OMG. What in the world is that wizardy!?! I want a CHI steamer for myself! I've got a Jiffy steamer, which is amazing, but that Garment bag steamer doohickey DOES THE WORK FOR YOU!?! I may just treat myself to one for one of my upcoming milestones. And absolutely - If I'm in the upper echelons, or have something special and vintage (and, of course, it fits the budget/profit), I send my higher end pieces to the dry cleaning if needed. Sometimes they just need a good cleaning or sanitizing steam, which i can do, but sometimes, it's best to let a pro do the job...

@@JMSquaredVintage short video on the steamer. It’s freaking awesome!!! I use it in place of dry cleaning and to “disinfect” items from the bins. Still need to iron a few things / it reduces the work tremendously!!!

Julia A lot of times I cannot see your labels to catch the name . I think it might be cuz it’s right in the light head on. I find The North Face is slowing down also. Thx for your sweet video
