my third Dirk Pitt novel after Raise the Titanic and Atlantis Found, I have to say even if rough around the edges I love how engaging and gripping these novels are. genuinely fun.

Oof. The very next paragraph: "The Starbuck was like a thoroughbred jumper at her first horse show, "chafing at the bit, ready to show..." The saying is: "Champing" at the bit, not "Chafing". Good Heavens. Three minutes and 22 seconds is as far as I'm willing to suffer through this though, I'm afraid.
I am left deeply confused. How is it that he ends up with twins later in the series if all he did was “kiss her softly” about three times? Is is like that old myth about getting pregnant from a toilet seat?
About hr 5 why does it repeat? It's most confusing 🤦♀️

Yup 3:58 it repeats the "they killed him!" wearing a muumuu part. You have to skip ahead to about 4:58 to not waste an hour repeating.
"capable of cruising at 125 knots, through the timeless depths at 2,000' beneath the..." Ahroo? Cruising at 125 knots? Uhh, I'm not a boat guy, but isn't that awfully speedy? That's 144 mph lol

These adverts drive you mad
I gave it a good shot but this story is so ignorantly racist in its portrayal of Hawaiians and the reader so dead set against learning the actual pronunciation of the Hawaiian words in this ridiculous story- even though you'd think that's part of his job- that I just couldn't waste any more of my time.
