Who Am I?
I am a Management Consultant in real life but in my Bootlosophy channel, I make videos about boots and all things boot related. This channel posts reviews of boots, unboxing of new boots, and follow-up reviews, and in doing so, may explore the philosophy of the brands and makers as well as the collectors!
In this channel, I will give information found in my research about the brand, the construction, and the materials, but I will express my personal opinions about how I feel about the boots reviewed.

Good comparison sir. I was really pleased with my Fulton boot at first but after a month or so of regular wear the sole on the right boot started to separate. White’s customer service has been very easy to deal with on the upside.

I would definitely agree with everything you mentioned. Initially, I wasn't a fan of the Field Boot tread pattern, but I honestly haven't had one issue with footing so it's grown on me. My issue with the Field boot is 1) those stinking D-rings (I hate them), the laces (replaced them for a few bucks), and the last they use. I had to drop 1/2 size from the last used on the Diesel/Ottawa boot (high toe box and slightly longer) and also had to insert a leather heel since my foot tends to ride forward with this boot. Still..I really like it, but hopefully Grant Stone releases a v2.0. We shall see. Cheers.

The perry, fulton, millwood and the chore boot are not hand lasted, but machine instead. That and the goodyear welt machine keep it under 400. The next cheapest boot whites has is like $550 plus, those are the hand lasted ones

From all the research I did it seems like Grant Stone deals with a factory that treats their workers well and offers a good wage. I have no trouble supporting a foreign company that works that way. I love my Grant Stone boots and feel they measure up well with my MP’s at half the price.

Always an enjoyable education to watch your fantastically informative boot reviews. I've been interested in White's Chore Boot because I prefer a plain toe to the moc toe on the Field Boot. They are both in the same $300-$400 price range (US). Do you tnink it is safe to a assume that the Chore Boot has a gusseted tongue and storm welt like the Field Boot? I ask because I find White's online product descriptions to be somewhat lacking in detail. Or perhaps, as a beginning boot guy, I'm not smart enough to properly interpret the product information they do provide. I've loved your other Grant Stone reviews, particularly on the Edward which I recently ordered in Waxy Commander leather. Thank you and keep up the great videos.

The Field Boot is definitely a more refined boot. There's no doubting that. Again I own a pair of Fultons that have been nothing but great boots for me. So I may be a bit biased. That being said? I want a pair of Field Boots someday as well. The way I see it though? The Field Boot is a bit too refined and luxurious for me to wear as an everyday work boot. I'm sure it's performance would stand up quite well. But it's just such a beautiful boot. I prefer the lug sole and leather on the Fulton more for a work boot. That leather can get wrecked on the jobsite and it still cleans up great. It's very scuff resistant and forgiving. The lug sole (in similar environments) will easily outlast the blown rubber as well. And I do think it's fine for casual use as well. It's great looking boot in it's own right. Just in a more rugged way. Now all that being said? I'm not saying it's a better boot than the Field Boot. But it is a bit cheaper, easier to come by for me here in the States, and again due to the sole and leather type is much more suited for work IMO. I'd definitely rock the Field Boots in casual arenas for sure though. And the true answer as far as I'm concerned is....I need both boots LOL!

Good comparison and imo GS makes the best quality boot in their price range, especially when they mark them down. At the same time I don’t see a problem with going out of your way to support homegrown companies. I would have no issue buying more boots from Grant Stone but if a MITUSA company offers a similar product for the same or slightly higher price I will go with them. And there is nothing wrong with that. At the same time GS makes a hell of a loafer and I have chosen them over Alden.

Very nice Teik, as always. Unfortunately, some people can't seem to separate a government from its people, and the "patriotism" in the US is pretty extreme sometimes. We are all part of the human race, and Chinese people need jobs too. While it is impossible to know for sure, it seems that high quality products, such as those made by GS, requires a certain commitment to your employees - it seems likely that GS treats their production workers better than the average chinese factory. GS seems to be proud of the Xiamen factory, and it also seems unlikely they would be willing to risk their reputation by treating their employees with sweatshop conditions. I am looking forward to owning some Grant Stones some day soon.

You don’t have to travel outside of the United States (to china) to find better quality control and a lower price than what White’s is putting out in their lower cost work boots. Red Wing, and Thorogood, have the quality and value nailed down (in my opinion) over what White’s is churning out right now. I own the Fulton, been working in them for two weeks. Quality control was poor, but I am liking the boots. But for the price? There are plenty of $200-$250 options out there that can meet (or exceed) the Fulton.
