Pachelbel's Canon - for Tone Chimes (with cello)

In G major. Proper chime technique is important. I remind my students to start and end notes together. I tell my students to hold their chime up like the statue of liberty holds her torch. One chord should end at the exact same time the next chord begins. The sound can be stopped with a free hand or shoulder. Repeated notes do not need to be muted between articulations. Students should watch and listen to each other to make the sound continuous throughout the piece.
I take my time setting up the instruments on folding tables, clearly marked with blue tape. That way I can get instruments into my students' hands quickly. I make sure my students replace instruments carefully at the end of class. Some students will have more than 1 chime. This is so each student plays more or less the same amount of notes for the piece. Part 9 is especially challenging as that student is in charge of 3 pitches.
I hope you and your students enjoy this!
