When I play this song on my Violin, no one notices the beginning. But when I get to 0:50 they're like "Oh yes I know that song". As a child I've always heard this song playing with a choir singing I just thought it was beautiful I always asked my mom "What's this song called?" she never knew. Now im proud of myself 2 and a half years playing the violin, Im now 11 years of age started at 9, I hope I can follow my passion for the Violin. When im 20 or 18 I'll look back at this video and hopefully this comment, and remember :)

It's not quite that old --- more like 300 years old. Late-17th or early 18th century. Pachebel died in 1706. But it will still be around in another 100 years.

I'm sorry for your loss. Have you heard Trans-Siberian Orchestra's version of Cannon? It's beautiful there's words to it called Christmas Canon from 1998 with kids singing and then there's a rock version which is also a beautiful piece and the rock version from 2004. But the version with the kids singing sounds exactly like this.

My daughter walked into the church while a pianist played this beautiful grace filled melody, she looked beautiful, the room was beautifully decorated, the service was holy, her husband Prince Charming. The rest of the day was blessed, I cannot tell you the over powering Joy I feel when I listen to this little bit of heaven. I walked down the aisle on my wedding day to this beautiful song. The same pianist my parents had was also my pianist. It was such a special day and I loved having this song in it. My husband really wanted it and I hadn't heard of it before. Glad we chose this!

This song reminds me of nostalgic youth back when life was much simpler and worry-free. Glad to see that this piece of music is still enduring to this day for those that still need it.

When I was young, my older sister always played this song on her piano every morning. I was really annoyed cuz I need to sleep. But now she is married and lives aboard so, I have to listen to this song thru KZread every morning. Thanks @grimgroove for uploading this video.

If perfection exists in this world, then this is it.

I don't know why but when i hear this sweet soothing song, i somehow feel like i am in the audience who watches my life out of the stage and takes me out of my world. I can't tell how a simple melody can make us feel like this but some songs makes me believe that music is truly the language of the universe and that's definitely one of them. You will never know who i am but all of us have listened this song in someplaces, during some points of our life..

Well I mean I was playing this around her age, as long as you practice a bunch and you have a good teacher and a good memory, it’s totally possible. My old teacher always told me “If your fingers don’t hurt, you haven’t been practicing enough.”

This piece brings me back in the past, when I was a small child. Every time I listen to this it reminds me of my happy nostalgic moments 🥲

I’m playing this song on the piano currently, and ever so often I just come back here to take in the beauty of this piece.

Anyone who’s here because they enjoy this kind of music and not because of maroon 5 or jaiden.

I get what you're saying. I know because I'm smarter than most people. Why, even within the womb I was listening to classical music and composing my own pieces. Even now, nearly 5 years from the day I was born I have studied such classics as Mozart with the utmost efficiency.

This exact arrangement was the first whole piece that I learned to play in the piano last 2019. I haven't touched my piano for a few months now due to busy work but I can still play this piece from memory. Very nice to play.

how to play this song

This song reminds me of my grandma, she loves my piano playing. She knew i was learning to play back when I was starting out and learnt how to play a very easy version of the river flows in you. She encouraged me to keep learning. She recently passed away early in the month, I'm still having trouble as to the reason why, It was so sudden. I learned to play this a few weeks or months before it happened. It was my favourite song to play at the time, and when she died, I decided to dedicate my first "hard" song to learn at the time for her. I played this at her funeral, promising myself to never let that song go, and cherish it like she cherished me. She was so close to me and my family, I miss her a lot. I know she was listening to me play at the funeral in her casket, I just know she was listening, and I hope she's proud of how far I've come.

I love this piece. My daughter chose it as her wedding entrance music but, since we're in Wales, it was played on a harp. It sounded ethereal and listening to it here brings back so many beautiful and precious emotions.❤️

I only remember this from piano tiles, I used to play it with my cousins and sister when the game was really hyped years ago! Now I keep coming back here to relive those days lol.

Someone once told me you cant see heaven in this lifetime but every once in a while you can hear it

This song has always been special to me. It was the first song my mother taught me on the violin and it's so relaxing.

To me there can be no best version of canon in d. It sounds different in every instruments and theyre all beautiful.

I practiced this on my piano for 5 months for a talent show, and I won first place! It brought tears and smiles to everyone's faces, along with mine. :)

When my grandbaby was born during the Pandemic & just after Kenosha rioted, at just 48 hrs old, this was her first piano song she ever heard. Late at 1am and in need of being held up right after every feeding for half an hour around the clock, played softly so she had to still to hear it

This song just makes me think about death and how life goes on after it. At first, it is slow and calm, like a dying person giving up their last breaths, accepting their death. Then, it slowly starts to get wilder. More emotional. Almost happy. As if the person was becoming one with the wholeness of nature, locking the circle that is life. Flowers bloom, birds chirp and insects crawl all around and on an ancient grave of someone, that was once happy. The life is gone, and so is the happiness. But life as a whole goes on. And it needs not that one person to do so. In fact, that one death might´ve brought about a new life and once again changed up the everlasting and everchanging garden of nature. And as a young man places a flower on an old man´s grave, he feels, that one day so might one of his offsprings do for him.

honestly, out of classical music i can say this is some pretty boring shit. Don't get me wrong it is beautiful, but it is literally the same thing repeating and is one of the songs that gives the entire genre a bad outlook by people who only ever hear this. That's my opinion, but I do listen to mostly classical as well (I'm a music major fcol) just this one i don't like @--@
