These are SO underrated. I cannot decide if I love the Pablos or the Polychromos more, but they play so nicely together that I don't have to choose. The Pablos colour selection is just the bomb though, probably the best out of every single pencils line I can think of expect maybe the Holbeins I will never have. I had the Polychromos first and brought in the Pablos for their pastels and unique colours.

I completely agree these are so underrated! Personally I think they're way better than the Polychromos but then I'm not a huge fan of the Polychromos, an unpopular opinion I know. The Pablo colours though, as you say probably the best colours of any set out there.

@@BlueKungFu I do like the Polys but I feel that way about the Prismas. They are just meh to me. But Polys and Prismas are both overrated really. Sometimes you'd think that these two are the only pencils that exist (according to colourtube).

@@mchobbit2951 Yeah I've simply not bothered with Prismacolors. They're really expensive here in the UK & I've read so many things about quality problems that I'd rather spend my cash on pencils I know are worth it. You're right, both sets are overrated although the Polychromos are excellent in quality so at least you get what you pay for unlike Prismas. Polychromos are good for detail, I do use them occasionally but I find them greasy and I don't like they're quite translucent. I really want to try Holbeins, I've heard they're good but so eye-wateringly expensive!

I totally agree with you. I think the Pablo’s are a bit more softer than the Polychromos. The details I can do with both. The only difference, in my experience, is the blending. Poly’s need way more layers to blend smoothly. The pablo’s are the opposite: with the third layer I can blend it (with the right paper ofcourse)

Hi! I saw this video like 15 times in this past like 16 months, I really enjoyed it and finally convinced myself and got the Caran d'Ache 120 Pablo this past days! I have just tried a few but I wanna do a complete piece so I can get the full experience and see how they perform. Greetings from Guatemala :) !

Pinks and greens are my favorite colors that make me happy.

Blue. Light blue, dark blue, every shade of blue makes me feel so serene and happy inside. :)

The only thing I think is missing is not enough pinks in this set personally. Lovely seeing the colours. Thank you.

I really enjoy the size of your swatches-they’re large enough for me to easily get a feel for the colors available in a set, and to see how the color lays down on the paper. I’d really appreciate it if you could include a small color blending test as part of your swatching, just two or three colors. My favorite color family is the blue-violets. (At least today it is!)

It is too difficult too chose only one colour! I love all these of this set! "Pablo" and "Luminance" are my favourite pencils and Faber Castell Polychromos after that.

MINE TOO! (Well, Pablos and Polychromos, I cannot afford Luminance let's be honest). I never got why everyone seems to love Prismacolor the most. The Pablo colour selection is JUST as varied as Prismacolor and I find the colours more natural.

in my childhood days i used to love purple yam and true blue but as i age i like teal, millennial pink, grayed lavender and lilac

I have these too. They're an excellent complement to Polychromos due to the unique colors. They also play well with each other. My favorite colors are the entire range of Red to Teal. Not a huge fan of orange/yellow colors, but every color has a purpose.

I splurged on a 40 set of these and love them. maybe in 6-12 months I will consider getting all the Pablos. They are very beautiful. Thanks for swatching! Greens for me too, but that might be because I am working in Johanna Basford’s coloring books a lot... so. Many. Leaves! 🍃 blues are also quite lovely.

I think they're better than the Polychromos, I just love my Pablos.

I am like you… i am usually up at 4:45-5:00 am! Love, love, LOVE your videos! Totally binge watching your channel now! Which would you say has the stronger lead, Poly or Pablo? My goal would be to use them for detail work. Thanks and blessings for 2022! I love blue and green but my HAPPY color is ORANGE!!!!!!! :)

The only thing I don’t like with the pablo’s are the skintones. They don’t mix very nicely to get a superrealistic skin colour.

I have a few Pablos open stock and I like them but I find them scratchy, and dry. Could it be the way they are kept that affects the core? Love your videos.

I would like to know what kind of paper is best to use with Pablo for portrait drawings.

What do you think of them now you have had them in use for a while? I've heard that they are hard pencils. But they didn't look particularly hard when you swatched them. I like Derwent Procolour and Artist range and they are considered hard so I'm not afraid of a harder pencil. I like to layer to get my colours, not squish them all together as so many do with Prisma. I love this colour range. It's hard not to want them.

If you color using the side of the pencil they lay down nice and smooth. They hold a point nicely so that you can get really fine detail. This is a great pencil color. 😊

Are they as good as the luminance ones? Xxx

The Luminance are wax based and the highest lightfast color pencils. I will be reviewing those soon.

I read somewhere Pablo has colors not found in any other brands. Anyone know the names as I want to buy those open stock?
