I'm so glad the magazine disconnect on the P320 is a stupid little thing that just screws into another part in the FCU. It was easy to remove though it made getting the FCU out of the grip a three-handed affair. I don't have a P365 but I'm still grateful for the video, clearly shot, good audio with clear instructions.

Great Video. Thank you. One note, when removing the safety lever, the spring and detent will fly across the room if not careful. You stated this when reassembling the safety lever. It is important to know this BEFORE you remove the safety. Thanks again.

The new CA version cost over $160.00 more than the non-CA version so good luck finding a cheap one. Sig is just passing on the cost of re-design, extra parts and the cost of submitting the gun for CADOJ testing AND the CADOJ listing fees to the consumer.

you would think that logic is sound but alas no. The CA version is MORE expensive. Its the only one Californians can buy (without going through a marked up PPT sale) and oddly enough CA is a large slice of gun sales nationwide. So demand is actually high.

Very nice video. BTW, the trigger bar is on the other side of the FCU. The bar you're removing is the TDSL (Takedown Safety Lever). It has two functions: to prevent TDL (Takedown Lever) rotation when a magazine is inserted, and to lower the Sear when the TDL is rotated, to allow the Striker to clear the Sear for Slide removal. Hope this helps.

To the peeps freaking out about the legality. Honestly this feels a bit like the mattress tag only to be cut off by the owner of the mattress. These features are required to be on the pistol at the time of sale to protect the end user. I have never heard of anyone who in a legit self defense shoot went to jail because they installed an RMR or custom trigger. FUD’s talk about it constantly but never heard of a case. Now you modify the trigger and have an AD/ND that hurts someone yeah you’re gonna lose the manufacturer standing behind you arguing the intrinsic safety of the guns engineering. The LCI, no joke you could easily lose it when you install your RMR. It legit will fall out onto the table if you don’t go out of your way to keep track of it.

ty for the vid, did this for a friends gun, not to familiar with the p320 series but the vid made it easy, only trouble i had was putting the FCU back in the frame, the slide lock needs to be lifted to move the take down lever, who would have guessed .

OMG... I literally stopped reading comments right before your comment and it would've saved me from a potential disaster. Successfully removed the magazine disconnect, and reassembled, but couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the slide back on and takedown lever wasn't budging. Took it all apart and started from square 1 and lost the detent spring in the safety lever in the process. Luckily found the spring under my armorer's block! At least it won't be something I forget anytime soon when reassembling a P365....

Bought a Wilson Combat grip was almost going to take a Dremel to it when I came across your video thanks a lot

Great video that is so simple and time-saving compared to others which required takedown and reassembly of too many parts! BTW, there is no need to take out the manual safety! You just use a sharp pick to carefully pull out safety pin just enough to avoid safety lever falling out inorder to use small long nose plier to rotate the safety pin clockwise so takedown lever bar is removed. On reassembly, I had a little problem with the takedown lever bar not connecting to takedown lever and NOT being flush which prevented the FCU not fitting into grip module. BTW, I easily replaced the trigger with Sig Flat Trigger at same time without need to replace the trigger pin.

Great video, really saves a lot of steps, however if the trigger pin refuses to sit flush ( you used a mallet and some force), a temporary removal of the trigger spring will slide that little bugger flush.

Since I had a hard time finding answers to my questions 1. No you don’t need a “delete kit” when you remove the safety 2. It will fit in Wilson Combat grips after you remove the mag disconnect Annndd when you thought you had it all back together and you springs and pins started falling out there is videos on full dissembly and reassembling and a 90 degree pick and punch will save your ass

Weird question. I undertook this process and in doing so also swapped to the Sig OE flat face trigger. I’m 99.99% sure I did everything right. Safety inhibits the trigger, goes on/off as expected. That said I noticed fidgeting with the pistol that you can for instance, rack the gun, safe/unsafe, drop the hammer. From there you can pull the trigger, push up gently on the safety and sometimes if you manipulate things juuuuust so you can get the safety to engage with the hammer down, that is to say pistol not cocked. In this state you can’t pull the trigger nor can you rack the slide. It reminds me of my P938 which won’t allow you to safe the pistol with the hammer down iirc. In the case of the P365 it doesn’t feel like a deliberate mode of operation but maybe a manipulation of the tolerances in the mechanisms.

Where’d you get that pic with the angle? I put a deposit on the Sig P320 but will transfer it over to the P365CA. Will probably get the Wilson Combat P365 lower. How long is the reset? Is there a short reset kit for this? Possibly Grey Guns has one.

The problem with the magazine disconnect for me is that with it the FCU wont fit the grip module I want, so it has to go.

Great video. Quick question though, this would be a good time to replace the curved trigger with a flat trigger right? Would I actually need to replace the trigger bar spring included in the “flat trigger kit” from SIG? Or just pop the flat trigger in during reassembly?

Safety lever is a pain in the rear to reinsert! My safety lever pin, fell out completely and it was a pain to reassemble!!! Be cautious

The Take Down Safety Bar IS NOT the trigger bar. The actual trigger bar is on the other side attached to the trigger.

Super damn easy if you follow the instructions without cutting any corners haha I tried to do it without removing the safety and it took me 3 hours. I removed the safety and was done within minutes 😂

This took the longest to do too! On a brand new FCU. Eventually it went in with a lot of cursing, pushing pin, and squeezing trigger

It took me a bit, but I realized you need to make sure that you wiggle it side to side so that it can align properly. Not just pulling the trigger down, but wiggling it side to side so that it aligns.

Can you make one for M18 from California plz

I’m curious if the CA p365 FCU is exactly the same as non-CA with the trigger being different. Can you differentiate between them if they are fully stripped without any components? Thanks.

I think what he was getting at is he saw a little ridge built into the FCU to accept the disconnect next to the trigger. Which I assume aswell isn’t on the regular non California version.

There is, the other grip modules are solid in an area that needs a notch. If you hold them side by side it’s obvious. So your choice is remove the MDM or file a clearance notch in the grip module. Either will work…

Yes…in the sense that it will make the gun more reliable 😂 I installed the OEM flat trigger, came with the exact same spring in the bag and the geometry looks the same too. It does appear I could have kept the MDM but it would stop you from using unmodified grip modules. You can apparently file the Wilson grip module to make to work with the MDM if you’re wanting to keep it but it won’t just drop in.

Any idea where in Orange County i can get this done?

Can the OEM flat face trigger fit with the mag disconnect still installed?

Just did one, didn’t try but it looked like it might. Feels more like it’s a function of the grip module having clearance. I suspect the trigger was designed to support this from go. Can tell you for sure if you dump the MDM the OE flat face Sig trigger does work. It comes with the trigger, the spring and the trigger pin. Not sure what the trigger pin is for tho, it looks less appropriate than the one you pull out so I reused that and it fit perfect. The one they include is just a straight pin whereas the one in the gun is stepped with two diameters.

I think I saw a video where it shows the trigger that comes with the gun has a notch to allow for the magazine disconnect. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Flat Face trigger will fit with the mag disconnect installed.

All that’s missing is when you push the trigger pin out to remove the MDM you just remove the trigger itself it’s pretty obvious how it comes out. The only thing that was, “weird” is the Sig trigger kit comes with the trigger, trigger spring (measured with calipers it’s the exact same thickness wire) but the pin they give you seems wrong. The pin you remove from the gun is a bit longer and stepped (two diameters) and just seems more right so I just reused that pin.

That trigger pin is a pain in the ass to get flush !!! Day 2 did everything you said and more. Still not flush. 😞

Nice modification if you use your 365 for target practice. Bad advice if you intend to modify a 365 for self defense. Remove a government mandated safety device is a sure fire way to receive serious charges if you ever use the pistol to defend yourself. A District Attorney can argue you made the pistol more deadly and less safe, and that California required a mag disconnect to protect society. Just spend the extra money and buy an off roster pistol. Better yet, move out of California.

This fits the definition of “make unsafe”. That’s why I like the p229. I replaced the slide and the locking block with genuine sig parts that just happen to not have the LCI or disconnect. My issuing authority said that’s good to go. I wonder what sort of grey area this will fall under.

It is not illegal to have a gun without a magazine disconnect in Ca and it's not illegal to modify your gun, just has to have a mag disconnect in order to be on the handgun roster wich is unconstitutional. I guess some people just like to be controlled by the government.
