P255 Arashi Shibori (Pole Wrapping) Tie-dye Pattern
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Arashi shibori is a technique in which you roll a piece of fabric around a pole. You then squish the fabric to create many small pleats. The dyed is then applied directly on the fabric. Thank you to our artist Francis who made this beautiful shirt.

Ooh I like how it fades out of the corner where the wrap started. This is gotta be one of the prettiest dyes I've seen from this channel. I feel like this pattern would look beautiful on a long, flowy skirt.
Matches the snow peeerrrrrecttt!!
That's beautiful! What a cool technique.
I've been doing Arashi shibori for many years and it is so much fun. I did a king size sheet on a 10' pvc pipe. It was amazing. Great looking shirt.

what’s the steps I need to follow to do this? what kinds of paints, dry times before unwrapping, washing tips?

@@WhatThePublicWants I use Dharma Trading Company's fiber reactive dyes for natural fibers. I soak my item in a soda ash and water solution, 1 cup sa to 1 gallon of water, for at least 20 minutes. Squeeze as much as you can or spin out in your washing machine so your item is just barely damp. Now do what Chandye did in this video. You can wrap it on whatever width and length pole you want. Dye placement is up to you. I let my projects sit overnight in a warm place. I cover my projects with plastic so it doesn't dry out. You can use rubber bands, string, artificial sinew or whatever you have to secure your item to the pole. Unwrap your item, rinse it and wash it until the water comes out clear. I do at least 3 wash cycles, depends on how big my item is, with Dharma's textile detergent or Blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. Dry and enjoy your beautiful work:)

Love this pole wrapping technique, looks a lot easier than folding. I'm researching before attempting. Would like to try a couple of colors together. Thanks for sharing!
I love it!
Love that!
Whoa, cool!
I think it looks great I haven’t tried one of these ones yet thanks for sharing✌️
Id love to see one where the pole had a series of holes or verticle cuts in it, then put some die inside the pole and rolled it around. C'mon! Lets see it!

Does this wrap need to sit for any period of time before rinsing? Wrap in plastic wrap? Or just rinse right after dying?
What string do you use for tieing the fabric.
How would it look with 2 colors? Pls do a 2color tie dye pole wrap
Can you do a Sekka shibori next?
Mak the same think but whit orange and yellow
I can tell you're probably Canadian from the fact that you're wearing a sleeveless shirt in the winter
