Very nice demo. I have one more point if I can add here, pitching is one other factor which affects the vocal delivery, right? One should know at what sruti range the vocal chord can take, by practice or consulting a guru etc. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, I think that too should be done; though there is a way you can increase your vocal range by a percentage.

This video, it seems ,is intended serve a special purpose. It has to reach all those who want to sing, enjoy and make the listeners enjoy. Music without sound lives only in our mrinds. People speak of the music of silence . Some poets may also believe that the music yet to be heard is sweeter than the ones which have already been born and heard. There is of course music in such statements.These poetic lines in them make them virtually musical. But in reality music is born on sounds and voices. Voice can be used for expressing the saahithyam, for bringing out the ragam in proper Shruthi and Thalam. Voice alone can convey the saahithyam. Since it goes into all the aspects of music it is the most important object in any kind of music. Instruments can bring and embellish the melody and ragam and Thalam but not the saahithyam. Again, just see : percussion can bring out the Thalam only. It has its own Shruthi, melody, and Layam but not the swaraas and saahithyam. So since voice is the most used and the most powerful tool-queen of music , it has to be given utmost importance. In olden days people were worried only about the perfection in singing. They paid scant respect to their voice. The result was that music got confined into within the four walls of the thinlly attended rooms. Very few,in the past worried about the need for voice culture and that of giving beauty to the "voice-ingredients" in music. The result was saahithyam , melody and pleasantess to hear were all relegated to the back ground. They often fought for tradition and perfection in singing. The advent of film music gave more importance to the quality of voice. Rafi sab, Latha, Dasettan, Jayettan, SPB etc along with BMK in Carnatic music brougut in the importance of voice culture. Voice cracks while singing are so ugly and repulsive that the listeners feel like biting hard rocks while being fed with soft and sweet honey. That being said, this video by Deepu is very important and useful for both musicians and musicologists. Hope many would watch the video which is an e-teacher and benefit by learning from it. Congratulations Deepu for being the originator of this teaching video. Such videos help music to go beyond the existing boundaries of listeners gathering around the singers.

Thank you so much!!. As I mentioned in the video, these are my own takes on this issue. There might lot of other points that I may not have covered in this video too. But you are right, the importance of voice culture, especially amongst carnatic musicians, need to be there. These days I see many workshops to improve voice and I hope more and more people listen to their body and start adapting better voice culture practices.

for that you need voice control, breath control and be able to modulate the voice. Also you need to improve your vocal range. Ithinellam purame "thurannu" paadi practice cheyyuka.. anyway this is a different topic and need practice as well.
