I kinda feel sorry that linda was left all of 20 seconds. As she looked so different to 4 non blondes debut, it could have been a huge reveal and way more stage time as she would still sing this way better than Pink ever could.

@@toddstevens13 There is a YT video of Pink and Linda at a performance for the Gay and Lesbian deal from about 10 years ago, Pink's hair was cut really short then, and, although Linda was playing guitar next to Pink, each time Pink tried to bring Linda in she kept on refusing..Finally, Pink had to practically force Linda into a duet...

When you are there live (I was at the Manchester gig the night or two before this) and she sings this, omg, the whole crowd gets emotional as they sing along. I also got the privilege of seeing her at her first ever European gig in 2002, it was a small venue and we had no idea what to expect. She sang this and I swear, in that moment it was clear she was going to be packing out arenas next time around.

She won my heart the first time I saw her skip down that runway. She won it again today .

So generous of Pink to share the spotlight with her amazing backup singer!

ABSOLUTELY! Needed a quick fix of Linda Perry singing What's Up and after that I came across a video of Lady Gaga in concert singing her version of the song. Totally ruined it. Pink on the other hand, nail it and made me wish I was there 😊

You’d almost think this song was written just for Pinks voice oh my word she NAILED IT

So classy, she gives the stage to her back up singers and lets them have the spotlight...an amazing song and years later I still feel the goosebumps and joy in the crowd - Pink has always been such a class act!

I was thinking exactly the same as I was stroling down and found your comment. It is indeed very classy of her. It doesn't surprise me P!nk did that, even though I don't know her very much. The way P!nk lets her back up singers having the last rays of lights shining on them remiinds me of Elton John and Dave Grohl as well... It's like if they were saying: "Hey folks... those artists surrounding me here are great and without them, this show wouldn't have been as good. Let them prove my point now!" Or maybe it's just me being too romantic about it lol... I don't know ;)

My goal is to see her live. Could you imagine being at a Pink concert?!🤩 I’m sure some of y’all have been to one and could attest to these things: If she’s this exhilarating, satisfying, uplifting, and enjoyable from afar; on a YT video and through headphones, then she *must* be mind-blowing in concert.

Pink is one of those few artists who actually have that one powerful voice that resonates whenever she sings. Linda Perry being one also, who can rock it.

Pink's voice is not as powerful as you think. She had to transpose it down a couple of steps from the original key to be able to sing it, and in case you hadn't noticed, her voice rasped out several times while singing this song, and at other times, she held the mic out toward the audience to let them sing it for her to give her own voice a rest and avoid the high parts. That's not what strong voices do.

@@myrmidon92 Yes, she committed 3 strikes on this song, the first by transposing the key down 2 half-steps and the second, she had the audience help her, and third, she had the audience help her not on just high phrases, but even on shorter half-phrases consisting of only a couple notes/words within a phrase. I mean, if you're going to have the audience help you, at least let them do the whole phrase. This business of two words here, two words there is a bunch of nonsense. What happened was, even in the lower key, Pink screams so much when she sings that she blew her voice out to the point where she couldn't sing those notes delicately, she has to scream them out or she can't sing them. If she's going to continually scream raspily like that she's going to significantly shorten her singing career. I'll grant that she is a good interpreter of music. But a strong voice? No, because if it was a strong voice, it would be able to withstand the abuse she's giving it.

The argument that you just made is the fallback argument of all of the people who don't know what they are talking about in the field of endeavor that is being discussed. Any time you fall back to the argument of "well they made a lot of money" or "they sold a lot of records," that's waving the white flag and admitting defeat. If you like her, then just say, well "I like her anyway." But don't go around peddling this baloney about "she's got a strong voice." If she had a strong voice, she wouldn't have been skipping all of those notes. Boom. Slam dunk. Slayed. Case closed.

Yeah, all that and it prevents us from being plague carriers too! OMG the horror of staying safe from a pandemic. It really doesn't show that we're a part of anything bigger tho. It proves we're herd animals just like cattle and sheep. We'll pay hard-earned money and possibly sacrifice our lives to be like sheep or cattle. Get over yourself! This plague is real! It too will pass someday just like all other plagues have but until then we have to sacrifice and take care of ourselves and others. Otherwise, it WON'T pass. Right now we have a quarter of a million Americans dead and well over a million worldwide. How many more will it take before people realize that forsaking public gatherings and wearing masks is no big deal compared to saving lives?

Hahahaha that is not Linda Perry. Linda has appeared with Pink a handful of times but this isn't one of those times. Linda prefers to stay behind the scene now and writes music and makes very rare appearances.

I came here after seeing the Lady Gaga cover. Steffi was so damn overwrought and try-hard. Meanwhile, Alecia simply nails it. Beautiful.

I never really listened much to P!nk but I have to say that she has an extraordinary relation to the crowd, she feels so very home on stage, so confident, so comfortable. I really like this video a lot
