P.J.Proby......greatest male singer ever! His 1990 CD album "Thanks" was great. Thirty years later it's still wonderful to play......11 special songs. Thank you John G. Sutton.

P.J. in the late 1980's & early 1990 was almost forgotten as the famous vocalist he once was. He also was a alcohol fan back then. But John G. Sutton took charge of him & made P.J. a star once again. In 1993 P.J. stopped drinking & he got even better and right now in 2020,he's still a brilliant singer at the age of 81.

Thank You Ron I did set out to lift PJP up from the gutter into which he had sunk and despite his best efforts to thwart me eventually it worked. The most difficult aspect was PJP's attitude that was fuelled by his amazing capacity for booze,

The song written by John G. Sutton for P.J.Proby...."Stage Of Fools" is brilliant. I'd love to see that song once more out as a CD single right now in 2020. P.J. has the best male singers voice I've ever heard.

That last story is so funny...

I used to speak to proby early 2000 as he was living in his managers house in a little village in wales....the same house were hendrix used to stay!!

Tom I worked with Proby and he has an amazing voice but he is psychotic. Best Wishes JOHN

@@talesfromthejails Yeah a very Sad combination. I`ve got most of Jims records/or CD`s and I`ve seen him perform live ,and he definitely has/or had issues . But saying that , his voice in the early years when singing ballads such as "Angelica" or "You`ve come Back " , I `ve never got tired of listening to.The last time I watched him live, it was obvious his Voice has deteriorated a lot, and the sad thing is, unless i`m mistaken, he`s still kept on going to which I think to what he was as a Singer ,and what he is now , he should have retired gracefully years ago instead of singing a few keys down because he cannot reach the notes he was so well known for reaching easily, and frankly it just doesn`t do him any justice now he can`t sing the Songs as he used to do. But Proby being Proby ,I guess his Ego just won`t let him retire from singing.

John I'd rather have you singing and u carnt sing lol
