P.I. Tchaikovsky - V. Gryaznov. Flower’s Waltz from the ballet “Nutcracker”
Vyacheslav Gryaznov arrangement of P. I. Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers from his ballet "Nutcracker." Here are his Program Notes:
"The idea of writing the transcription of Waltz of Flowers came to me while I was working on a jokey Paraphrase on themes from the Nutcracker for 4-hand piano and orchestra, ordered by a TV musical competition. In that piece, I used just some echoes of the Flowers’ Waltz, and I realized that I wanted to approach this never-to-be-forgotten music by Tchaikovsky from a different -- serious -- position and make a standalone and fully-fledged arrangement." - Vyacheslav Gryaznov
Performed May 14, 2017 in The Drozdoff Society's Impromptu Classical Music Recital Series' inaugural event at Stamford's "Fish" Church's Fellowship Hall under the auspices of Highland Green Foundation and Fish's Music Director, James Wetherald. The piano is a Mason & Hamlin C.

Mr. Gryaznov has just recorded a CD of his arrangements on the Steinway & Sons Label which will be released in 2018.

I heard many of Mr. Gryaznov's concerts and transcriptions. What a phenomenal technique and sense of tempi. Why he isn't one of the top ten well known pianists in the world?

I totally agree, i'm preety sure that a very few of pianists are able to realise the range of his sensitive touch... I hope they feel it at least !

I don't know about that. But honestly who cares. There is literal trash out there with millions of views. And absolute gems with next to no views at all! For all we know Gryaznov doesn't wish to be some kind of superstar and that's his right. Remember all our creations all take place within creation itself. No need to worry. Mr. Gryaznov continues to do wonders with his superb art - and all so gracefully that he makes it look easy. He should be more well known to the whole world.
Wow! the Presbyterian "Fish" Church in Stamford! I used to play in piano recitals every year there when I was a kid. It's awesome to see Vyacheslav playing there. I'm sorry I missed the concert. He's incredible, and his arrangements, particularly those of Glinka's Valse-Fantasie and Rachmaninoff's Italian Polka, are stunning. He has a bright future ahead. One might even say, so bright, he's gotta wear shades.
Love him and his transcriptions. Always excellent.

This reminds me so much of Blumenfeld's transcription of Glazunov's Waltz Op. 47 No. 1, I wonder whether that was one of the inspirations... Both are amazing transcriptions of amazing waltzes. Sadly both transcriptions are also relatively unknown.

Dude it is a waltz right? Try and think of dancing to that…if you can’t dance to that jerky up and down tempo, you’re going to get seasick!
