The OA1 is the same pattern as the Staff D5. The 1786/Staff 86 pattern is different since it has the half moon palm overlap where the D5/OA1 has a full palm overlap like the 1787 does. The D5/OA1 has the extra strip of leather between the index and middle finger so it makes the pocket wider than a 1786/Staff 86.

Ozzie Albies is my favorite player and I have his glove and his bat model

I used to play with a 11 inch, mid infield (Quick transfers, quick transfers, quick transfers), but the time did his job on me jajajaja, Nowdays, Im playing and 11.75 (Utility size) and find that if Im going two in the pinky I catch more, feels more confortable, and gie e a bite of time to do a good transfer. I think that depends in what you feel better for your play.

I play infield and wanna get a 11.5" A2K, and had my eyes on the red OA1 glove, but I play with two fingers in the pinky and now, based on your review, I'm in doubt of getting the red one or just the normal 1786? You say it's much more comfortable to wear than the 1786, but also that the pocket is deeper and that the ball feels looser when closing (I like thumb to pinky closure), so now I am in doubt, which one to get. Can the OA1 be broken in to have the same pocket as the 1786 you think, or what would you recommend for best ball feel? Also what do you think about the superskin compared to the normal leather? Thanks and happy holidays.

What is the best break in for second base

Question for you. Once you break a glove in with two in the pinky, can you switch back to traditional? I have a Rawlings HOH I used and my son recently asked to play with it. He’s using traditional with it. He’s 10. Am I setting him up for failure with a glove that was broken in differently than the way he wants to use it?

I am a 15u baseball player and I will say that no it will not I have the oa pro model but used to have a 2000 that I wore 2 in the pinky and switched back and forth it will just be very lose on his hand

Ok...time for the old guy to insert some knowledge. While scrolling through some available gloves. Two of them brought back fond memories. The sears roboc Ted Williams addition. And the Nike plastic basket. I've used both of these through the years. The Nike has one of the best fits of any glove I've worn. But that dang plastic web. Junk! On the other hand...the TW from sears was my all time favorite gloves. So guess what....iam going to buy these gloves used and do a swap. The total amount will probably be under $100. The new gloves are like new cars. All shiny and meet saftey requirements, but the old muscle car gloves are dominant. Try cleaning with Sadler soap and tannery premium leather conditioner.

I would love to see another 3rd base glove review because the #3 glove for 3rd base on your glove list is no longer being produced. Maybe the Jose Ramirez a2000? just would love to see a #3 third base glove that could be purchased!

i have a question, anybody out there can answer; does anyone who plays multiple positions and has multiple gloves wear one traditional, and the other two in the pinky? or perhaps bought a new glove and tried to wear it your regular way(be it traditional or TITP) and couldn't get the pocket of the new glove to fit right and had to switch wear styles? i've always worn my gloves traditional but i bought a new glove for infield and in the process of breaking it in the pocket hasn't felt right but when i wear it TITP the pocket feels much better, but it just feels so foreign to wear it that way. does it just need more break in work? i'll hang up and listen

Honestly I’d value comfort over anything. At the end of the day you should u be good enough to make a play no matter what glove you use.

I played 2nd in hs and wore traditional and played Rf in college and wore 2 pinky. Different gloves obviously. I would only recommend 2 pinky for outfield bc it adds length and reach, effectively adds a couple inches to your glove. Infielders need feel and transfer speed. Those saying it hurts their hand, give me a break. Go cry to your mommy..😁
