Thanks for putting this one out; good info. I'm in the preplanning phase for my intended cross-country flying next summer and doing my homework because I'll definitely need a two-place oxygen system.

I’m a big fan of the Mountain High system. It’s self contained and has a very long history of reliability.

Another great video, thanks a lot for that! We want to see more "system related" videos like this one, as it answers lots of questions all at once. It is also much easier to search your KZread library when they are sorted per system like you just did. And since I'm starting an RV-9A soon (empennage ordered!), I can't get enough videos about this georgous plane!! :)

@@BuildFlyGo Ok I will! What about making a video about the percentage of time it took you to build each big section of your plane? Something like 8% of total time for the tail, 20% for the wings and so on for the fuselage, avionics, finishing kit and the engine? This way, if it takes me for example 300 hours building the tail, I could estimate the time each subsequent sections would take me. Just a suggestion! :)

Do you run the O2D2 on batteries or is it connected to the plane's electrical? If on batteries, how often do you need to replace them?

Batteries. I use eneloop rechargeable a for everything and have a charger in the hangar. I just throw a fresh set in before any large trips. Have not had them run out on me yet but I always carry a spare set I. The plane just in case.

Are you installing oxygen in the RV10? Will it be portable or built in or some sort of hybrid?

Definitely installing a system in the 10. I think it will be hybrid with a fixed cylinder in. The back and lines running forward for a pair of o2d2s.

Hey. Any thoughts on using an oxygen concentrator like this store.mvmsinc.com/mobile/oxygo-next-portable-oxygen-concentrator-p1577.aspx over the traditional tank system? The long term seems to make sense as you can supply power to the unit throughout flight and you don’t have to pay for the hydrostatic testing over time.

Do they work at altitude? I don’t know but might be worth testing out. Hydro is $16 every 5 years. I generally o2 clean them after hydro for a case of beer to my scuba buddy. A fill is $7 at the local scuba shop.

@@BuildFlyGo I’ve seen and spoken with some pilots who have taken them up to 17/18k and their pulse ox was just fine with them. I think the catch on it is I don’t know if they are FAA “approved” for that purpose.

It’s an interesting idea, I’d give it a try if I have one around. I’m really conservative with stuff like that so I’d probably carry a backup bottle just in case.
