There is actually scientific evidence that the flu does spread more easily in cold weather. I think that makes sense, otherwise people near the equator would get the illness. However, I'm not sure if spending 20 minutes in the cold would actually be enough to get you sick.

While you're right that bacteria and viruses are the cause of illness, there are many factors which can aid in their spread, distribution, and affect on our bodies. One of the main reasons we see an increase of infected individuals in the winter time is due to people crowding indoors, and rhinovirus (causes the flu) can travels through the air and infects the epithelium of our lungs. So no, sitting in the snow didn't give him the flu, but the cold could decrease his immune system to a point where the virus overwhelmed his body. At least, that's what the guest lecturer in our virology class explained.

Yes, that is correct. Environmental factors do aid in the spread of a disease. Some diseases aren't able to spread through the air either, which makes them far less contagious, such as ebola, which can only spread through infected fluids. Others still can be transferred from parasites or other animals, such as malaria from mosquitoes (actually caused by a parasite, what do ya know). Temperature also seems to affect how well disease infects individuals, such as the classic flu. I'm not sure about diseases that only thrive in hot temperatures though.

I’m rewatching this series for the first time since it came out, and he mentioned that he was recording this in March, which would’ve been March 2018, one of the worst months of my life. And it just reminded me so much of how one of the happy things in my life back then was coming back to my dorm room and relaxing and watching Oxygen Not Included, I would always look forward to it. So it may be late, but thank you Mark, for giving me something to smile about when smiling was so damn hard.

He used the correct grammar. "An" is the proper version of "a" when the following word starts with a vowel. "And" is for saying something like "do this and do that" or "he put the compost next to the toilet and then made an airlock around it". Grammar lesson of the day, I suppose. If you're gonna nitpick it, know what you're talking about. :)

I miss this series I wish he’d go back and play the spaced out dlc

getting this recommended is just sweet. I saw his him in his live show. I kept my tickets and even the little red and green sign thing they gave us. The day after was a horrible day for me. But re-watching the little snippets i did take there for myself was amazing. I miss it. That was the only time i saw him in person. Never talked one and one but man- this man legit- ahh I see him in as a father figure. Growing up my dad was gone a lot due to work- same with my mom so Mark was really there to fill that lonely space. I really loved seeing him in rosemont IL.

his long streams are typically 8-12 hours. sometimes 24. so a 3 1/2 hour long stream is really short for him.
