Remember you can use the Rally mode to get a feel for blue fire without worrying too much about reserves and without the need for restarting every time you lose blue fire, just get to the next ring. Also jump boosts are probably almost enough for the last section of the track if you've done a good job with reserves from the start.

6:50 It isnt a bug, the loss of Blue Fire is scripted so you dont slam yourself to the wall.

Great vid as always. I've already beaten developer time on this track with Drift class but now I can see how to do it with speed too). I just have 5 to go: Crash Cove, Turbo Track, Dragon Mines, Prehistoric Playground and Megamix Mania (really close on the first 3 and a few seconds off on the last 2). Finally managed to beat Hyper Spaceway thanks to your video and also Cortex Castle. You definitely deserve 10K subs as your guides are really helpful.

This is the last of the CTR tracks I need to beat, so the timing is perfect. My main problem with this track is just that it's so long. I can make two attempts at crash cove in the amount of time it takes to make one attempt on this track.

Oxide can go fall in a well. For his cheating in the story, and for making a tough track.

Oxide station used to be one of my most hated track. But after learning the essentials I started to love it as I can traverse the track without losing bluefire. Good video viperian good luck on your road to 10k subs you can do it!

Love your videos, they have definitely helped my game. I'm close to beating the dev time at oxide station, i'm just ahead of the ghost after 2 laps but i always get nervous on lap 3 and make a silly mistake. One touch of the wall and its all over.

Oxide is no longer fast, but he says Velo is faster, then comes the dev who brags, then comes me who has beaten the dev

I have so much trouble beating the dev on Cortex Castle. I've only ever held the blue fire for a whole lap once, and it was definetly one of the hardest velo tracks to beat for me. I would really appreciate a guide for that :)

I love your vids! I'm going to suggest Electron Avenue and Cortex Castle, they are all about maintaining blue fire!

Wow, my run is very similar to your tutorial except I just hop and turn instead of uturning on the snake pit v1. I also drift boost through the blue pad in the air, then turn normally after I land. I also drift after the huge jump all way to the uturn area.

Although I played this game a lot I never tried U turning, only Air Brake. On PS1 this track was my favorite and I would play it on 7 laps a lot. Now on PS4 I cant do shit on it. I will practice U turning today for the first time then I will try it again. If I beat Oxide time with your tips I will come back and subscribe.

Hopefully with this I won't Crash and burn from this track with this new knowledge. In gonna go try this one.

Did beat them a few weeks back, thanks for your help 👍 you can have the wheels bud as you get the credit. This track screams better turn engine, used drift and it helped as speed I can never get comfortable with. Acceleration can help too if you need more turning. Developer messes up on the final lap on the last few turns. Most likely on purpose to give us a chance, which I appreciate. I was around 7-8 seconds behind, starting the last lap but won on the final turn. So keep going and not give up 👌 For me control is more important than speed. Unfortunately now that I have the wheels 2 weeks ago, the fire, passion, fun and desire for the game is gone as I did everything bar buying skins and materials for the karts but it doesn't convince me enough and my ps plus expired so no online for a while. Any tips to get the passion back? The grand prixs were fun (although I got the game in December) but now my mind says there's nothing I can do now.

Maintaining Blue Fire is one thing, but it kinda also boils down to a good/optimal racing line in Oxide Station as well, That's where I was struggling, As I knew how to Blue Fire the track, but my Racing line was a complete shit show I won't lie. I managed a better racing Line and Finally beat it fairly soundly, There's a saving grace though, for many just Keep close to the Dev ghost, On the LAST lap the Dev ghost messes up & loses Blue Fire near the end, If you stay close to the Ghost (Even if behind most the way, but not TOO far behind) You've got it beat. Yes I did this with Accel which made it more of a "Just keep close to the Dev to win" Scenario.

i reckon it should be a m instead of a k. your a very friendly and interactive ctr tuber and also thanks for the blizzards vid just after it came out i did it cheers

Finding out why this dev time was hard be like: "Wow, you guys are good. I was the last person I would have suspected, but I was looking for me all the time! It's the perfect crime!"

Hold down and either left or right, depending on which way you want to turn as well as square (ps4) or X (xbox) . Release square/X before releasing the down input to maintain the reserves. Just go into the adventure mode and drive around there to practice. U-Turning is almost always more efficient to do while in the air but it can be done on the ground in a pinch, just make sure down is always held longer than square/X. It takes a while to get the muscle memory for it but once you have it you'll see your times shoot right up.

Same bud, had to switch button commands on the ps4 settings as I simply couldn't get used to the down button on the dpad. Used R2 for down as I use R1 for jumping, for me it was a no-brainer and it made a massive difference. Try switching buttons if using down or the dpad doesn't feel right.

Viperian, one thing YOU should be taught is to time your drifts better :p

Oxide station was really easy for me for some reason I just know how to keep the fire for the entire race till the end but I still managed to win the race but in the end I didn’t get my blue fire from that time.

I know U-Turn on paper, but always mess it up. I just pushing and releasing buttons where I should or not. Some kind of reflex and panic I guess. On several tracks, where you jump higher and have tight spaces -, I can perform, but not on tracks like Oxide Station.

Actually 80% of the tracks are more than doable with accel 🤔🤔

Already beat this using Drift engine 😉

Did it with Drift Set Up with 4 seconds to spare for N Tropy. That is enough sweating for me.

Important is 2 know that on the end of lap 3 the dev ghost loses its bluefire so you dont have play exactly perfectly

Fun Fact about me:Slide colisiem was the 8th dev I beat with air braking (No bragging)

My main issue with Oxide Station is how dang lumpy the track is. It throws off my timing for drifts and turning so much (I.E I expect to hit the ground later and so am not expecting to enter a drift so soon). DTD is similar but I don't have any issues with DTD. DTD best track.

Clearly, the trick is to start the race a light early, and in second gear!

I lost Blue Fire on the final turn and was still about to be the ghost. Also I believe the ghost loses Blue Fire on the 3rd to last turn on Lap 3.

I hold blue fire on all the tiny arena and still 3 seconds slower than dev :(

You’re taking bad lines then. Stick closer to the walls. Use Speed, it helps a lot. However you will need to u-turn a lot. Oh, and you don’t need to u-turn at all. You can hop instead. U-turning is faster in my opinion, though. And keep Sacred Fire. You don’t need to keep it until the end. I lost reserves on the second lap, and still won. The dev time is really slow there. Also, Tiny Arena doesn’t have blue fire. It’s orange so Sacred Fire. Unless you meant Tiny Temple, or Tiger Temple? All these track names are similar and confusing. Good luck, you can do it!

This developer loses the blue fire at the end of the third lap, I know it because I thought I was going to lose against him because I was so far from him but I had the blue fire, so I just kept going and beat him at the end of the lap

I honestly don’t get how people even beat velo and are trying to beat dev times if they can’t even hold blue fire in a track, seriously, Ik that in some tracks it depends because of insane corner cutting and shortcuts that cut your reserves a lot but this track’s dev time doesn’t need that what so ever

Oxide Station is the only Oxide time i have beat in the PS1 Version lol
