Hello, Eloise. I've been following you for a while, and I must acknowledge the fact that I love all your videos- especially the ones on BCL. I'm a law undergrad in Nigeria, and I have the dream on studying BCL someday. Take care of yourself :)

Thanks for informative video Eloise. Question, how popular is the Dissertation option for BCL, in terms of A) both ease/giving breathing place instead of being under pressure of the usual course options with specific exams or open book exams format, as regular essays for tutorials aren’t enough; and B) in terms of practicality i.e. workload management/time management/organisation? Reason for question is those who are more used to essay/research project (common with many final year undergrads who take law dissertation option) may find dissertation popular than having to take taught course that comes with exams and regular essay pressure. Thanks.

4 essays in 3 hours is stupid and impossible - more like 4 paragraphs in 3 hours - god law faculties in top schools need to get over themselves they are giving marks based on memory rather than understanding and competency

Hey, Loved the video Eloise!! Actually, I was watching one of your "how to write essays" videos and I saw you forming a mind map (it was not exactly that) kind of thing, wherein you were writing your arguments I thjnk, could you tell me a bit about that and how you make it???

Thanks! I actually moved away from using mind maps a little in later years of my degree, but I did find them useful at various points. I always found that it was helpful to take lots of notes on things I was reading and then look back through those notes in order to spot similarities and differences and form arguments. The mind maps were me drawing links between lots of different sources to work out what all my different paragraphs might say. I hope this makes sense!

I’ve got a few study advice videos on my channel that might help and I’m thinking of making another one soon. Make sure to reach out to your tutors and ask lots of questions about things you’re struggling with- it really helps!
