    Hey sound! Excellent video. One question, I’m planning to buy the stainless steel bracelet, do you recommend the 20mm and use the original pins from the rubber band of the watch? Thabks!

  • @soundsoserious

    @soundsoserious

    2 жыл бұрын

    Wait! I do not think an aftermarket bracelet will easily fit this watch. A 20mm bracelet will definitely not fit. A 19mm would BUT there is such little room between the lug holes and the case it would have to be a very thin one. The best recommendation I can give you is that if you want the bracelet….buy it that way. If you have one already then I’d say you’re better off selling your strap version and buying an “upgraded” bracelet model. Buying the bracelet from TAG is going to be too expensive.

    Gracias for the message! I don’t speak Spanish but based on google translate I think you are asking about a shorter strap? The original strap will be way too large.I would recommend: Barton Silicone Elite from Amazon. It will fit a small wrist. You will need to use your original spring bar. Thanks again! 😘

    It’s a Barton Elite silicone strap from Amazon….but there’s the tricky part. You need the 20mm strap. The lug width is 19.5mm so the pins included with the strap will not work. You can remove them and use the pins that come with the watch….OR buy an extra 19mm Barton strap and use those pins in the 20mm strap. Confusing I know. :(

    Ah ok I understand your concern; but the rubber is stretchy enough that you can remove the spring bar and put the shorter one in WITHOUT cutting or damaging the strap!

    I think that the only TAG worth buying is that square thing that Steven McQueen was wearing in Le Mans. Talking about this particular item I believe that is rip-off... Even if you are lucky and you get for 500 bucks, it is still a raw deal. The watch looks OK, but there is nothing special about it. TAG puts a cheap quartz movement inside, the case, the strap look very simple and cheap as well and then they make you pay throught your nose for that. How much do you think it is worth to make that watch? Thanks god that they did not cut corners more and did not put Hardlex instead of sapphire. However, judging by the approach they are taking this would have been a very logical step. The whole branding approach of TAG today is just using their heritage and reputation of having created few iconic watches in the past just to empty the pockets of their clients by selling a very mediocre product (with some exceptions like the square thing). By the way, the best watch that I saw in the review was the one you were wearing in the beginning, but sadly you took it off... :)

    Thank u very much for the thoughtful response! I always appreciate passion for watches, even if it’s the opposite of mine. FWIW I think TAG makes a good looking and approachable Swiss Made watch. There are so many good options out there and if this isn’t the right one for you then there are plenty of others. It’s a little unfair to say that Heuer only uses their heritage to sell watches though, basically ever brand does this right?

    @@soundsoserious Hallo. Honestly I have major respect for TAG. That is exactly why I am so disappointed when I see them trying to make a quick dollar without putting too much effort into developping the product that they sell. I believe that at a thousand dollar price point you have to give more than just TAG and SWISS MADE written on the dial. This is my opinion, no disrespect to anyone wearing this watch...

    Understood and I don’t disagree. Sometimes it’s hard to fight the good fight when one of your favorite brands misfires. I’ve had to keep a stiff upper lip with brands like Breitling, TAG, & Panerai more than a few times. 😅
