I have a Ragdoll, Miss Kitty, and she is just like you said! sweet and loving! She is over 15 yrs old. My daughter just gave her to me on my birthday in Feb because I have lung cancer, and she thought I would like a companion! She couldn't have been more right. She sleeps a lot, but she is old like me (82) and we like to sleep. She is the best thing I could have ever had for a friend ,since I am confined to the house now because of the Virus, here in Arizona.

I have a blue point Ragdoll--Felix. My friends call him the puppy cat, he is my little buddy. Felix just turned 21 years old! The vet said he has never seen a Ragdoll this old. He is starting to show signs of his age and I know the dreadful day is not too far off. Makes me cry just thinking of it

Oh yes! I forgot that .. hmmm I figured people would not let them outside since they are so fancy and not really an outdoor type cat.. mine don't even like going outside its too hot in Florida.. they just sit by the sliding glass door and look outside even when its open they don't go out.

Mine loves sitting outside and before being rescued lived on the street for three months. They're cluey and resourceful.

You didn't mention their big selling point- their glorious large size! My two boys are large and stunning. Great personalities of course but I love the big meaty size that is what drew me to the breed.

Found an abandoned kitten at a macdonalds while riding my bike home, literally one of the workers said it was tossed out of a vehicle. I took it home in a happymeal box and had her for years. She used to climb on my chest when i slept and was grey so I named her Smoke. She had three kittens, a white a grey and a black all solid colors with the characteristic ears variation. It was 20 years later that I read about rag dolls that would go limp when you picked them up, exactly as she did. She was a fine cat and I'm glad a poor man like me got to care for her for so long.

If I could afford it ide definitely have another raggdoll! Mine kept getting outside and I was finding weed in sacks on my kitchen table. After getting mad at everyone, I learned he was getting out and going into other peoples apartments and stealing their Mary!

Raised by German Shepherds, literally since I was born. I saved a Rag-doll from the pound, her owner passed away. She is 11 years now, plays like a kitten, fetches like a dog. She actually acts like a dog, she is my shadow.

Our Frankie is a Blue bicolor too, such a sweet and by far the best breed cat we have ever had! Love the Ragdoll!

I actually breed Ragdolls! 💕 They’re amazing and there weren’t any breeders in my country so I wanted to introduce the breed to Kazakhstan ☺️ The kittens are the most friendliest little things I have ever seen and has the softest coat! I can believe it!

I have a ragdoll cat, she likes being around the family so much that she doesn't even leave the backyard. We snuggle up together at night, I think she gets really anxious when she can't be around us. She doesn't like being brushed though, so we have to kind of hold her down to brush her otherwise her fur gets all matted.

1 followed inside another stray we were feeding. Fell in love at first meow. Smart beyond belief. I haven't seen him go to the kittyroom, but once at a park. He's an intact indoor/outdoor cat though never goes 1 or 2 in the yards!!! We moved 8 hours away & he was lost for 12 days & came back without a scratch. Must of picked up a heat scent...Yes yes, we will fix him soon!:)))

My 8 month old seal pointed ragdoll and you legit described my katara to a tee. Shes literally a dog, will not leave me alone when I'm home, and has a plush white and black coat with those damn blue eyes. Her and my dog are the best things in my life!

My first cat ever I was so beyond ready and excited to finally have a kitty! My mom decided to get us a ragdoll because of their good temperament and less shedding/hypoallergenic qualities, and she was my BAAABYY she came from a great breeder, like even at age like 13-14 I did all my research on animal breeders and breeds of cats and dogs, and this breeder was so friendly and nice. My cats name was Jasmine cause I freakin loved Disney movies obvs. She was a medium sized cat as an adult and sealpoint mitted beautiful little lady. She was my best friend. She would sleep right next to me wrapped around my arms under the blankets almost every single night 💕 after she passed I waited a bit then fell in love with two bonded sisters I found at a pet shop in the city they were rescues and their files/descriptions read ragdoll mix. Calliope seems a little more tabby/whatever other cat she is she's very outgoing and doglike, she even fetches the big lint dryer ball! Both are BIG GORLS, like 16- 20ish lbsand white and fluffy as heck and had beautiful big patches of either grey/black tabby and orange tabby all over with green eyes! And her sister Persephone could compete with my first cat in the princess department. She's shy and will hiss when annoyed or cornered by someone she doesn't know or I just want to kiss her face haha..but she's a big baby who wants pets and food and attention once she warms up. She has stunning icey/sky blue eyes and is a bit more softer and definitely looks all ragdoll. She's white with cream brown black and beige muddled spots she looks like a tiramisu latte to me haha. And they both can still catch a stray bird if one gets in the house with their mouths in seconds flat no joke I'm like how do they still have those skills from when they were tiny on a reserve somewhere?? I love them they are both so sweet and hilarious and full of personality. And they are close sisters they snuggle alot or randomly hit the other one in the face for no reason... lol

I have two. They have wonderful temperament.

I was so lucky that one just walked into our life - Would have never been able to afford one. He strolled up covered in bubble gum, his fur was truly disgusting, so we cleaned him and he never left! Actually it was mostly my old man who cleaned him up - A cat hater, but he's totally melted his heart and Tyson is now like a Faithful dog to him lol.

I adopted a rescue kitten who turned out to be a ragdoll. Kirby lived with me for 16 years & was the most beautiful, affectionate cat I ever knew. Kirby was the most loving being I've ever known and I still miss him so much. I was so lucky to have him in my life.

I got him because we fostered kittens and the SPCA didn't tell us they were deathly ill and their sickness killed our flame point. Adorable ♥️♥️ since they're friendly Cats Who Need attention , could they stay alone for 5/6 hours a day in your house or do they suffer being alone for a while?

I think my ragdoll is part squirrel, no matter how much I play with him he JUST WON'T STOP. He zooms all over the place, we took him in as a stray so I always wonder if it's just kind of too late for him to become fully adapted to living inside. He snuggles with us at night though, but overall he's extremely hyper.

I have a seal point ragdoll named Buddha he is so calm I love him so much. At times he looks into my eyes and purrs and doesn't look away. He doesn't like to catch anything but leaps into the air to chase a butterfly that he never catches!

All the people at our vet love our ragdoll cat because he's such an easy patient compared to so many cats. Doesn't fight them at all. Doesn't bite, scratch, hiss, or flail like a fish.

Lovely color,beautiful coat. we have 2 ragdolls too, one is so quiet,modest,loves to be brushed his coat,seldom play,very clingy like a child. The other one is talkative,more active,scared to be outside-well our ragdolls are just indoor. And we have a farm cat she’ really active,playful and talks a lot. Love them so much😻😻😻

I'm watching as many videos about dogs, cats, birds, bunnys etc, so at least when I grow up and when I can adopt these pets, atleadst ill know how to take care of them lol

my jack was an intense loving personable cat but his hair was like snow. it clung to my entire house, carpet, furniture, counters, i sneezed and itched for two years straight before i realized i was allergic to ragdoll fur, not cathair. there is a difference between the two. i took benedryl. i cut his fur down to a reasonable length so he didnt get matted and yet nothing worked. i had two siamese as well and my landlady said i had to reduce my pets. jack had the best chance of being rehomed as he was only 2. my other cats were 12 and 8. i had 2 small dogs as well. so i went on ragdoll sights to find him a new mommy. someone who adored ragdolls and had experience and knew about the fur. i told them everything about him. complete history as i had found him at an early age about 9 weeks. he was a lovely kitten and the owner had no idea what his breed was. he was just a white kitten but his colors came in as did his mane. at first i thought maine coon but soon it was evident of his plopping and good nature that he was definitely ragdoll. his new family sent me a few pics and i am happy he is happy. i still miss him. he was very playful and happy. he adored me and would often help me with my crocheting. lay right next to me on my arm and bat at the yarn. i took many many pics and videos. i feel like i did the right thing but i miss him. my oldest siamese died and my 21 yr old moved back from college and brought her flame point siamese with her so we still have two cats. if you are lucky enough to have a ragdoll and are not allergic, they have the sweetest dispositions. i love seeing them just plop down and own the floor or couch. no fear

One of these cats ended up in my garage ive been taking care of her ever since. She’s super cute, but it did take about three months for her to let me touch her and she’s been very loving ever since! Oh and she also demands loves and if I ignore her then she starts biting me until i give in. Update: someone took the cat and now i miss how she would always make me get off the car at least three times to move her just so I could park my car. I loved that cat.

I had a ragdoll 2 of them Dusty and Dale , they both was the best ever,so mellow, they lived 19 years traveled in the car without a carrier they also weighed 17 18 pounds get one or 2 you wont be disappointed ❤

@@welovetechstuff unlikely. Ragdoll's have a diminished presence of the FEL-D protein in their saliva which is what most people are allergic to. They are known for being great pets for people that are allergic. Your friend should go to a breeder, and see how he/she reacts.

They don’t need extra food... you don’t want them obese. Honestly the cat might be the most expensive part. You just need a litter box and food .. prob $45 a month.. or less Eben

I have two and they are the sweetest. But also demanding. The female always wants to play. She follows me on days when I did not play with her yet and she brings her toy and miaus until she gets her way. And the male is like that with sauce. He loves sauce and wants to eat it all the time.

I bought a chocolate coloured ragdoll type 😯 apparently because his chocolate colour is not recognised he’s not a pedigree I paid £750 including all vaccinations and chipping. Is this usual? Obviously I love the bones (more importantly the fur of him) but now seeing his lovely dark brown fur turning lighter, wondering what colour he’ll eventually turn out 🤔 wondering if he’s a breeding idea gone wrong

of course they can! I have them in Florida.. they just stay indoors.

Im torn between a Ragdoll or a Birman for my first time cat.which one do you recommend?. Their temperament seems to be very similar.

Ragdolls are definitively more personable and crave more attention ...i used to breed Birmans and now Ragdolls ...there has been Birman cats in the Ragdoll Pedigrees over the years and both breeds are beautiful

So I have a blue bi-color ragdoll cat but she is kinda aggressive, we never do anything to her that would spook her, but when we play with her she is sooo funny. Do you have any tips to make her more calm?

I think I have a mixed breed rag doll. He's placid and loves attention, all the typical traits are there, but he is very territorial....I have a feeling it might be because he learned form our other cat. When our other Cat died he seriously took over the territory, the behavior seemed to come out of nowhere, and boy can he meow - You should hear him at night! Still it''s VERY rare for him to attack or even play fight with a human, just other cats...Oh and he likes to tease the dog next door.

I'm interested in Ragdolls myself, is it a reason for denial if I don't have a balcony/garden? I know it's subjective for each breeder I was just wondering about your opinion Dr. Lindsay.

You should get one! They love being inside with you.. dont worry about not having a back yard. You may be able to teach them how to use a collar or leash to go on short walks outside

I have a rag doll but he just came to us when he was a kitty out of nowhere but then shortly after he was attacked and lost a leg but I still have him to this day

I have a car that looks exactly like that besides the color but it’s a mix of a ragdoll and a Maine coon. Ur cats face looks exactly like mines. My ragdoll mix with a Maine coon is named Luna
